They've basically carried on their form from last season into this season then, not losing any games but not winning enough to challenge at the top for a prolonged period.

It's only really England and Germany where you get big away support. In Spain in particular, there's hardly ever away fans at games, although I suspect a lot of that is because the league are really **** at the basic organisational things such as letting people know what day and time the games are kicking off. If you think it's annoying having 2 months' notice that a game's been moved to the Saturday evening, try not knowing whether your game will take place Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, Sunday night or Monday night until 10 days before the game.

Never stopped them before. I can remember countless occasions of big groups of Saints fans being rounded up at Waterloo station and dumped in the Hole in the Wall for the afternoon and then escorted across London to whichever ground we're playing at.

As much of an idiot as Eddie Mitchell is, the £1.4m in the bank is utterly unheard of for Bournemouth. Financially, they'll do alright as long as they can keep a side that's moderately competitive together. When the loan window opens next week, I'd expect a host of young players from Premier League clubs to flood in, which will probably be enough to keep them in mid-table this season.

I suggest you re-read the OP... not once did he ask for questions.

Indeed. Why would they tell a handful of fans sensitive information, even with some sort of NDA (which would be pretty much unenforceable in this situation - what are they likely to do?), when they know damn well the first thing they'll do when they get home is tell a load of their mates what was said?

The best thing about it is that it was clearly accidental as well The Wingate midfielder tried to control the ball high in the air, but a Tooting player got there first and his studs went into the Tooting player's chest. You could see that he just didn't see the guy coming, so it wasn't intentional, but it looked horrendous, so doubt there can be any arguments about the red card. -

I went to Tooting & Mitcham United v Wingate & Finchley in the Ryman Premier League, free to get in with any Premier League or Football League season ticket. Entertaining 1-1 draw, and a hilarious sending-off in injury time for a chest-high studs-up assault -
Condition now updated to "stable", so seems like he's made good progress throughout the course of the day. Good news.

One you missed: Really?? Seems an odd excuse to give for plain slow service. Hire people who can count change for a start...

No, missed out by 5 runs. Suspect if Carberry hadn't got out in the first over after tea we'd have probably made it, but with a new man at the crease it was always going to be tougher. Still, the 16 points available for the win are much more attractive than the one additional batting bonus point, and we've almost certainly batted them out of a win they really need.

To be fair to their fans, of the 11 who started the playoff semi-final against Huddersfield in May, 7 have been sold and one today announced his retirement due to injury. If that had happened to us after our most successful season in 30-odd years, with no sign of the money being reinvested in suitable (or indeed any) replacements, I think we'd be a bit ****ed off as well

Why does it always take us until August to remember how to play 4-day cricket?

Missed the deadline by 2 minutes, according to a local paper: http://bit.ly/qnMt6A

Shock horror, server that is being replaced soon (hopefully this/next week - timing out of my control) struggles with more than 750 people constantly loading pages and pressing F5. I do get rather tired of the same old faces (who don't contribute themselves and never have done) complaining and saying "everyone demand their money back!! mash mash mash" - you know who you are. No problem facing questions/criticism from those who have actually contributed.
-
And now the lunch break for them to regroup Difficult to get too excited until we've had a bat on that wicket, really. It's only their batting that's been depleted by injuries and England call-ups, not their bowling.
-
This is where we really need to turn the screw and run through their tail - usually what happens is they scrape to 250 all out from here...

In those situations, as a striker, I'd always prefer to score the open goal than take a relative chance with a penalty. The ref might not always give it, for a start. I guess the match situation might come into it as well - if it had been the 10th minute, a red card for the keeper is much more beneficial than in the 92nd minute when the team's already got the lead.
-
None of them are spinners, therefore the wicket must be perfectly acceptable

I think a lot of the stick he gets is unwarranted, but at the same time I would still like to see us sign another centre-back (preferably one with pace as well as a bit of muscle, as that's where we were caught out at Leicester). If that new signing is currently a better player than Seaborne, he gets in the team ahead of him. Seaborne will get his chance with injuries, suspensions, sensible squad rotation, etc. He's still young, so has plenty of time to improve and gain experience.

Lallana's captain tonight.

https://twitter.com/#!/BennyHowell13/status/108557849466118144 Seems an odd move, unless he's been told he won't be anywhere near the side next year.

I now have the Samsung Galaxy S2, which is the dog's ********. Got bored of my Blackberry in the end.

Tomorrow's game at Taunton should be quite interesting, I'd almost give us a chance now that Trescothick's out injured.

Katich would be a massive coup for us, particularly in the second division. Utterly baffling decision by Cricket Australia to not renew his central contract I reckon Cork will have one more year back at his home county of Derbyshire. Their CEO was quoted a few months back saying they were looking for a marquee signing for next year (they held discussions with Paul Collingwood before he signed a new deal at Durham), so wouldn't surprise me to see Cork as that signing.
