  1. Odds-on to go up before a ball's kicked... I don't see how this could possibly go wrong
  2. There are licensing issues there, so I'd say it's probably unlikely. We only have a licence to display the fixtures on this website, there are separate licences for other types of broadcast media, which would obviously cost more money.
  3. The article was on a time delay to only be available from exactly 9am. The clock on the server appears to be a minute or two behind my PC.
  4. Fixtures now out... Plymouth at home first. Full list: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?16-2010-2011-League-One-Fixtures-Released
  5. Thoroughly deserved win, they defended really well, Spain didn't really create enough to get back in the game and with 15 minutes to go looked like they'd run out of ideas.
  6. Well that makes things interesting...
  7. Not in the slightest. The OS (and most other Football League official sites) ****ed up last year so they didn't get the fixtures live until about an hour later... I know our system for releasing a news article on time works
  8. That's still there... the big one next to "Quick Navigation"
  9. It's close between them and the Swiss, IMO. Chile are much better going forward, but Switzerland are pretty good defensively.
  10. An hour earlier this year, "to meet the many requests made to us by our clients", according to the Press Association.
  11. If this game ends 11 v 11, I'll eat my hat. I should also point out I don't own a hat...
  12. Yes, we have a licence to display the fixtures, and have had ever since the site launched. But hey, carry on with your condescending "thinking you know everything" tone
  13. Not if you log out afterwards. Also, most internet cafés have automatic cookie-clearing scripts that take effect when your session finishes.
  14. Just a reminder that the fixtures for the forthcoming season will be released at 9am tomorrow morning. Needless to say, you'll be able to see them all here first :vuvu: See them here: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/content.php?16-2010-2011-League-One-Fixtures-Released
  15. I've just amended the "remember me" checkbox so that it's automatically ticked, so if you've got a problem seeing it for whatever reason, it will remember you automatically.
  16. You can remove avatars (and images that are displayed within posts) in your user settings: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/profile.php?do=editoptions As I said earlier, we might tweak the colours a little bit.
  17. They'll only be given an absolute maximum 4700 tickets, although would expect that to be reduced to allow for bigger segregation.
  18. I'd expect the Skates' game at Stevenage to be on TV.
  19. Appears on mine (version 5.0.375.70, on XP):
  20. Well I knew that the old style wouldn't be compatible with the new version of the software right from the off so a change in the look and feel was inevitable. The layout is pretty much as per the default style that the software comes with, which I have customised in terms of the colour scheme. I am genuinely baffled by the suggestion that it's less "work-safe" than the previous design - generally the more white/light colours, the better, in that sense, and the old layout didn't have many of those at all! Ultimately, experience has told me that people will always resist change when it first happens but will gradually come around to appreciate the reasons for the change over time. There might be some subtle changes just to tweak things (I can see the potential benefit of moving all of the user information to the left rather than above each post, for example), but I did ask at least 15 people to have a look at the site over the last couple of weeks when it was in a test environment and the overriding feeling was that the look and feel was an improvement and made it look more modern.
  21. While I'm happy that Korea got a deserved goal at the end, it's cost me 8 FF points
  22. It's been 32 teams since France '98, and both that tournament and Germany 2006 were excellent competitions full of great games. Japorea 2002 wasn't quite so good in terms of overall quality, but there were a lot of shocks there which made it interesting.
  23. I reckon the opposite, actually... Ivory Coast have the get-out of being able to lump it up to Drogba and see if he can bulldoze his way through - the Koreans aren't particularly big or strong. Portugal's sole tactic seems to be "give it to Ronaldo", but he preferred to spend his time falling over like a **** today.
