  1. Too much ball tampering...
  2. The tax arrears idea is a sound one, but the idea of getting a joint TV deal with the Premier League is nonsense. One of the main reasons the Premier League was formed in the first place was so the top flight could negotiate its own television deal - they're hardly likely to hand that privilege back any time soon.
  3. Now at Brighton, if anyone's remotely interested.
  4. Very happy with that draw. I don't think Phil Hughes is with them anymore, and Eoin Morgan and Owais Shah are with the England ODI squad so won't be available either. £7.50 for advance members tickets... bargain
  5. In production. Hopefully will be ready for distribution shortly after I get back from Vegas
  6. Well that was an unexpected bonus
  7. 98 without loss after 18. Worcestershire are determined to throw away their place in the quarter-finals, chasing 153 to win against Ireland, they're now 33/6 off 11 overs
  8. Yeah, that's the part I'm worried about, particularly without the sort of player who would be ideal at chasing down relatively low scores, Sir John of Crawley.
  9. 74/7 Even Carberry's taken a wicket!
  10. 44/5, Jefferson run out for 12. Pretty much into the last recognised batsmen now, which is clearly when we'll go and make a mess of it and let them off the hook again.
  11. Worcestershire would finish above us on account of both sides having won 5 games and then Worcestershire having won both games against us.
  12. 31/4 Riazuddin bowls Voges for 17. At this rate, it looks as though Pothas is going to bowl Cork and Riazuddin right through their 10 overs each in one go. Slightly risky, but possibly worth the risk.
  13. 25/3... Cork with all of them, the last of which was a stumping - seems odd that Pothas would be up at the stumps to Cork, who's not exactly a medium-pacer!
  14. Essentially a play-off for the quarter-finals, winner goes through. Hampshire team: Lumb, Carberry, Ervine, Adams, Benham, Dawson, Pothas, Cork, Taylor, Tahir, Riazuddin. Notts won the toss and are batting first. Cork gets Wagh caught and bowled first ball Currently 7/1 off 4.2 overs.
  15. It didn't help that the executives he employed spent the money that was supposedly promised/sought/pledged (delete depending on which chain of events you believe - I'll go with a little from B and C, personally) before it actually arrived, thereby putting us deep in trouble unless we got promoted.
  16. I wouldn't say they underperformed, to be honest - based on last season's "great" () escape and the loss of key players from that season, replaced with players who were deemed not good enough/ready for first-team football at that point, we were always going to be in a relegation battle.
  17. Win v Nottinghamshire on Wednesday and we're guaranteed a quarter-final place. A draw/no result would also be good enough if Leicestershire can do us a favour tomorrow by beating Notts at Grace Road.
  18. They would only dock extra points if we failed to agree a CVA with the creditors - the only reason other clubs have been failing to do so is because of their liabilities to HMRC (or, more precisely, the percentage of their total debt owed to HMRC), who have a policy of rejecting them due to the bizarre and somewhat illogical "footballing creditors" rule the Football League has. The fact that people are talking about a deal worth less than £10m suggests that our creditors are quite willing to negotiate (quite why Barclays pulled the plug in this case is even more strange and suspicious), so a CVA shouldn't be a problem.
  19. For some reason, Ian Branfoot sprang to mind when I read that... FWIW, I'd agree. Very very tentatively.
  20. Wouldn't be so sure - assuming there is likely to be some sort of announcement today, it's not all that surprising that it's been left right to the last possible moment. I just hope that any news is positive...
  21. No, no restriction on that as far as I'm aware.
  22. As I posted on the other thread, at the time of writing no press conference has been arranged.
  23. As yet, no press conference has been arranged. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad anymore...
