  1. 6-0 win at Wolves.
  2. That's looking the best bet right now.
  3. Very, although the most pathetic thing is that you have to pay £104 + VAT for the privilege of them sending an e-mail with the overpriced product you've just bought! Sadly, until someone with bottomless pockets forms a legal challenge to the system (highly unlikely), things will remain the same.
  4. There is a reason why the fixtures haven't been posted in full on the forum. Why do you think they've not been posted at all up until now? The fixtures are (ludicrously so, but until someone with bottomless pockets takes the leagues on, it will remain this way) subject to copyright and only those who possess a licence are allowed to publish the fixtures. SaintsWeb DOES have a licence, but two of the terms of the licence are: 1. that a particular line of text is placed on all pages where the fixtures are to be displayed - we don't have this on the forum, but we DO have this on the main site, http://www.saintsweb.co.uk 2. that the fixtures are not placed on pages where there are adverts - those who are "Registered Users" will see adverts on every page of the forum, hence we would be contravening the terms of our licence to display them here. What utter gibberish. If any of the links that have been posted crash your computer, you probably have a computer from 1853. The Daily Echo and the BBC have large resources which ensure that their sites run well. You are viewing the SaintsWeb forum, which strangely enough runs on the same server and domain name as the SaintsWeb main site, which has also been linked to. They all work fine.
  5. No, for two reasons: 1. We have to display the fixtures licence information on every page where fixtures are shown - the licence information isn't shown on the forum (yet). 2. One of the conditions of the licence is that the fixtures are displayed on a page without adverts. For the normal "Registered Users", they have adverts on every page on the forum, so we'd be contravening those conditions.
  6. Total was about £450 inc VAT, which is a fair bit cheaper than last season - they have the cheek to charge £104 + VAT for "delivery", which is basically e-mailing a Word document, and has come down from £150 + VAT from last season. Bit of a joke really. No idea if anyone even applied for it, but I remember speaking to Graham Hiley about it a few years ago and he said they'd probably try to avoid allowing anyone to have that as they didn't want to be seen to favour any one site over the rest. Should be fine - e-mail it to me when it's done and I'll upload it and link to it from the main site's fixtures page.
  7. 1. Technically, yes. 2. Technically, no. 3. Don't see why not, although they might not have entirely up-to-the-minute information available.
  8. Nothing of the sort - we chose not to even ask the club about the "Nominated Fanzine" status as it may be perceived to compromise the site's independence, so we have paid for a full licence.
  9. Amusing... seems as though the OS (along with loads of others) didn't manage to get the fixtures live for 10am, having obviously been advertising "see them here first" - http://www.pafc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10364~1694709,00.html
  10. The Press Association sent the fixtures out to everyone with a licence at 8am this morning.
  11. It may well be in Hartlepool in November on a Tuesday night though...
  12. I think the entire contents of my collection (including stands, floodlights, ridiculous throw-in takers, etc) are currently located in my parents' loft. I somehow doubt I'll ever be playing it again, to be honest.
  13. Utterly uninspiring, but at least gives us a decent chance of progressing to the next round. The return of Stuart Gray as well...
  14. Dagenham or Barnet away, please.
  15. West Ham told the Premier League they'd torn up the third party contract between them and MSI.
  16. Predictable big 8th wicket partnership lets them off the hook...
  17. They'll be good fun to watch next season for car-crash viewing reasons. Florentino Perez has very clearly learnt precisely nothing since his last spell as president. Signing every big-name attacking player under the sun for over-inflated transfer fees doesn't tend to work too well when you've got a defence made of biscuits.
  18.
  19. Given that safety is a rather big issue, particularly with public transport - and even more so with the tube in it's rather "remote" setting, I would say completely disregarding safety procedures would probably come under gross misconduct which is generally a sackable offence in any line of work.
  20. I'm hoping to have the master copy of the DVD some time next week, so should be sent to everyone the week after that.
  21. The starting salary for a tube driver is, as has already been mentioned, somewhere in the region of £35k, which rises to £42k-ish. For this, they get a 37-hour week (although I'm sure I read somewhere that tube drivers have similar restrictions as coach/bus/HGV drivers in that they can only be driving for a certain number of hours at a time - 5 hours was the time I saw, which then makes it a 25-hour week) and 43 days' paid leave. I'm yet to speak to anybody in London who has any sympathy for them over this. Also, apparently they were quite close to striking some sort of a deal (although quite why TfL were willing to listen to them in the first place is a bit bizarre) until Crowe decided that he'd throw in one extra demand, which was the reinstatement of two of his members who had been sacked - one for an alleged theft, the other for ignoring safety procedures. Their main motive for striking was for a 5% pay rise (up to £2k) and a guarantee that there would be no compulsory redundancies. Now I don't quite know what bizarre little world they live in at the RMT, but there's a global recession going on where thousands of people are losing their jobs on a pretty regular basis. Why should they be immune to that, if that's what is required? Credit to those from the rival union who thought it was all ******** and went to work anyway, and particularly to those RMT members who also thought the same and broke the picket line. I managed to get to Wembley on the Jubilee line without any problems last night as a result - in fact, it was the easiest journey to Wembley I've had since it was rebuilt.
  22. "Premier League TV" - I think I might just throw up.
  23. Me too, but I'll be disappointed to lose the Bundesliga coverage more than the Premier League stuff. While it was very "rough around the edges" and tended to have pundits who would actually say what they thought rather than try to kiss arse all the time, the picture quality was dreadful, solely due to their idea to skimp on the costs by broadcasting via the Eurobird satellite when every other broadcaster in the country uses Astra 2 (the end result being that you can't line your Sky dish up to both satellites perfectly, and clearly the Astra 2 one is the one you're going to use more often than not).
  24. The Sutton to Milton Keynes train (goes via Clapham Junction and Watford) stops at Wembley Central usually, which was going to be my alternative plan for tomorrow. Now that's been scuppered, I'm not bothering.
