  1. Ok, firstly I don't see how pointing out what 45 years of reading newspapers has proved to me can be construed in any way as lazy and actually to state that is absurd to the point of rudeness TBH. I could if I wanted to bore you and everyone else on here just from memory and just in relation to Saints alone pick up on many ridiculous things I have read over the years but since I must be lazy I won't bother though in truth it's more a question that generally I really can't be bothered to argue with stupidity. Secondly, you are spot on that the comparison with Cameron is extreme though what is clearly more significant is that the evidence was there for anyone to see that it was true ! A really nonsensical point. Thirdly, SMS doesn't of course hold 50,000, we have many fans scattered all over the planet many of whom can maybe attend 1/2 games a season. Given the option are they going to chose to go to say Hartlepool and see us play or go to Wembley ? Fouthly, in order to be objective it actually helps in my experience to have some idea as to what someone may have already stated rather than arguing a point they have already stated they agree with, in fact you really would have had to have tried very hard not to know my views on the NC saga given just how many times I stated it over the past 5 days. It would take a huge leap of faith for me to actually believe that whilst you may indeed try to make a point of not noticing who posts what you could actually fail to notice any of my posts. A trip to Specsavers is clearly called for. The point regarding the programme is not an issue as far as I can see, my point about the rumour of you having a copy being made tongue in cheek.
  2. Yes, stumps were drawn at tea time I believe. Is it not normal to have to continue until 5pm no matter how pointless it is or was there rain/bad light ?
  3. Of course they make things up all the time, do you really believe the "no smoke without fire" cliche ? Fortunately Radio Solent, as far as I'm aware, doesn't broadcast this far though even if the Echo did "just" rehash their story is that not journalism at it's worst picking up on something written/broadcast elsewhere ? Just sheer laziness. I agree the nationals don't generally care about us but is that to say that if things are quiet elsewhere they won't decide it is time that the one time PL club Southampton should make a bit of news. At least 2 papers I know of in relation to the JPT final asked the pathetic question that if there were 50,000 or so Saints fans at Wembley why did they not get 50,000 at each home game. D'oh ! As for NC if you have made a point of reading any of the Pardew/NC threads on here you will know I have stated umpteen times that IMO NC should have made a statement sooner and ended all this nonsense and also in relation to the programme fiasco the club should have made it clear why it was withdrawn though since rumour on here had it you were in possesion of a copy maybe you could have made a statement
  4. You mean other rags such as the Sun, Mirror, Mail etc !? I believe NC should have made a statement sooner than today but would certainly not blame him or anyone else for avoiding the press who in this country are generally only looking to stir up the proverbial. Unless you are really in a mood for a disagreement today or have just been offered the job as new Sports editor at The Echo it's hard to see why you are defending them quite so vigourously and certainly not in moderation !!
  5. fail
  6. Lol, just when you think it's safe to return and read some sensible posts I wouldn't even try to figure it out TBH Mike, it's been stated that it is late in the Phillipines and indeed 22.13 ( Manilla) as I write so that is probably the explanation, or not :smt102
  7. As far as I'm aware not a lot other than saying that AP should stay, may have been something negative v NC not supporting him but I'm guessing since the Southern Evening Echo luckily doesn't reach this far !
  8. Just a few criticising NC including : "Sadoldgitte wrote: If Mr Cortese had shown any kind of support for Alan Pardew up until now no of this would have happened. It is all very well having a pop at the Echo but it came about through Mr Cortese's reluctance to back his manager - and he has had plenty of opportunties to do do hasn't he? " Very original name it has to be said
  9. Raise to 129 and as above 435, any more !!
  10. I prefer post 435 TBH
  11. Mine does for sure
  12. I can't say I had noticed........until now !!
  13. 486/6, draw !
  14. I agree !
  15. But less noisy
  16. See posts 79 and 81, assume it's referring to MLT but you'd need to ask the original poster whom I only quoted!
  17. Well given the post in full was : Good statement but be careful about slagging marty. He would never do anything to harm this club and just because things are better now we should never forget how much he did for the club. Don't slag natty of that's out if order. I'm not really inclined to think it was deliberate but it was funny to be sure!
  18. No change there then
  19. Marty, natty :smt102
  20. Ok, next unfounded rumour please
  21. Not too hard TBH !
  22. Ahem, are you still a Moderator
  23. Well nothing really of course. However, given that stories clearly based on unfounded rumours didn't stop masses of discussion on here about what was happening it's nice to have something definite to talk about ! PS Can we now finally close all the AP is leaving threads please
  24. Excellent, just what was needed. Fair to say NC has erased the doubts I freely admitted to having. I especially like this: Our fans and staff should be reassured that I will only make decisions affecting our future based on sound football and business thinking and not on the whims of a local newspaper keen to maximise readership or pundits whose agendas are unclear. Furthermore, I will not respond to every piece of idle speculation. We have too much development work to do to waste time on such pursuits, and my time is dedicated to that work.
  25. As I said 3 days ago : " This is all so fantastic it beggars belief: Firstly we would have to imagine Ladbrokes were ever taking bets on AP being sacked in the 1st place, highly improbable and I'm certainly not aware of there being any such market existing with Ladbrokes or any other bookmaker. Secondly and assuming there was any market in the 1st place betting is then suspended, again nothing to substantiate that either as far as I'm aware. Finally even if we allow ourselves to accept the above we're then supposed to believe Ladbrokes stated Hughes was the new manager. That really would be astonishing and is as likely as us winning every game for the next 4 years and at at the end of 2013/14 being crowned CL winners, PL winners for the 2nd time, FA Cup Winners and League Cup Winners for the 4th time in a row and throw in League 1 Champions and JPT winners 2010/2011, CCC wiinners 2011/12 and just for good measure a couple of UEFA Cup wins as well as we'd almost certainly qualify via the FA Cup. Wow, what a great fantasy, I'm sure I'm sleep typing TBH !! Oh and I nearly forgot that invariably if anyone starts a market on something like this it is Skybet and not Ladbrokes! "
