When you see a horse go off at 1/14 ( Zaynar Kelso 18th Feb) and lose then that really does suggest finding "dead certs" is rather difficult ! That said 1/50 at Betfair for Pompey to get relegated returns £1m ( less commission) if you have a spare £50m to "invest" !

Thanks, good site.

Newcastle will certainly make signings in the summer if, as seems nigh on certain, they are promoted. However, as much as I like Lambert how does he really compare to Milburn, McDonald and Shearer. Of course he doesn't and if he did leave it would only for the CCC. I think he'll stay, of the others Lallana must surely be the most likely to leave. Hammond, as with Lambert and Harding too, must have known when they signed promotion was odds against so on that basis why would they leave after just 1 season which included a trip to Wembley ? However, at least no matter who leaves we'll have time and money to replace them.

Just been looking at the various options for watching TV online. At present I just get the basic Freeview channels on my TV but definitely want to get Sky Sports and a few other channels such as Watch and others which show old drama/comedy shows on my PC. Sky player is it seems the obvious choice for Sky Sports but from what I can see I need to buy their Entertainment pack as well ? Doesn't seem good value to me. Anyone on here subscribe to any services ( I do know for sure a fair few have Sky Player!) Thanks

Not when it is the BBC you are talking about ! Their highlight programmes ( including MOTD) are better than nothing but no more. -

Good man ! -
You know precisely what he means so why be so contrary ? Pardew must stay and I believe he will, 40+ years of supporting Saints tells me that even when we were promoted in 1966 and 1978 we still had bad games. I defy any team to go through a 46 game season and not have off days. Pardew is by a country mile the best manager we have had since Strachan and as much as I love the wee man I doubt he would be doing a better job. Criticism such as that on here really could only be found on here, it is clear this forum is in NO way reflective of the viewpoint of most Saints fans.

Just been on, worth waiting for ! -
On the basis that the vast majority of Saints fans are over the age of about 12 then if we achieved that feat then the PL beckons very soon !

No, what should have happened was that Terry should not have been selected. Any reasonable employer would penalise the guilty party but as always football has it's own rules and so Terry essentially gets away scot free. Disgraceful IMO.

Good !!

I'd be both amazed and appalled if it happened but it won't. I really have never been more bemused in my 40+ years of supporting Saints at these regular posts about Pardew's job being on the line. For me he has done a very good job and made some top rate signings. What I perhaps find most bizarre is that any reasonable Saints fan would have been very happy with 4 points from 2 away games, all that happened is that we played extremely well v Norwich and won but underperformed at Wycombe and drew. Lost count of how many times I have seen that happen and some of the reactions on here are quite frankly nonsense though I accept the original post was a question and not countysaint's own opinion. Have we learnt nothing from our own mistakes( and of many other teams) in replacing Managers at the drop of a hat. Is it any coincidence that clubs like Man U, Villa, Everton and Fulham to name but 4 are doing well ( at least in relation to their realistic expectations) but other clubs including most of those at the bottom of the PL not to mention QPR amongst others lower down are struggling ?

Did we nearly score at the end of normal time (Mark Dennis)? Can't remember Did the game go into extra time? Yes Or am I dreaming? Could be

About 24 years ago TBH ! That game sticks in the memory precisely because of Wright breaking his leg and after that Rush scored 2 goals, jammy Scousers

http://www.en.188bet.com/Sport/football/EPL__SEMI__EPL_S/English%20Premier%20League?vendorid=1626&vendorType=2#register You may have spotted their banners around the touchlines of various Premiership grounds this season as they have sponsorship deals with Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Wigan and Bolton. They now have a nice little sign up offer, a risk free £25 first bet. Lose your first bet and you will get it back, upto a maximum of £25. You can take as a risk free punt (knowing that you will get the first £25 stake back if you lose) or lock in some risk free profit. The key is to underlay the bet on the exchange so that if the bet does win then whilst you won't get the refund, you lose less at the exchange and have locked in a profit. But if the bet loses you will win some cash on the exchange and your free £25 stake returned by 188BET, so you will lock-in a profit that way, brilliant! Eg Bolton v Wolves, Premiership - 27/02/2010 at 3PM BACK DRAW at 188BET with £25 at odds of 3.35 LAY DRAW at BETFAIR with £17.03 at odds of 3.50 (you will need £42.57 in Betfair to cover this bet) If it is a draw then you will win £58.75 at 188BET and lose £42.57 at Betfair for an overall profit of £16.18. You won’t qualify for a refund but that doesn’t matter as you have locked in a guaranteed profit. Or If it is not a draw then you will lose your £25 stake at 188BET but win £16.18 (after 5% commission) at Betfair, leaving you £8.82 down but your initial £25 will be refunded by 188BET again giving an overall profit of £16.18, brilliant! Here are the details from the site...... 1. To get your free bet, email promo@188bet.com with your User Name, the Bet ID, and Promotion code 'NU125' 2. This promotion is only available to new 188BET customers based in the UK & EU 3. If your first settled bet is a losing bet, your 188BET account will be credited with your losing stake up to a value of £25 / €30. Winning bets are not eligible for this promotion. 4. Your account will be credited within 7 days of your claim. 5. The first settled bet on your account is the qualifying bet. 6. Closing date midnight 9th September 2012 "Settled" means a bet that has been fully accepted by 188BET in a market that has been settled on a result with all due winnings paid out. * Your risk is the amount of your stake.

Ha, they are being "lucky" again tonight, 6 lucky tries so far v Les Catalans. Ht score 36-0 Incredibly lucky 58-0 win, 5 tries and 9 goals for Pat Richards St Helens scraped a 22-16 win over Wakefield ( which means Wigan are now the only team with a 100% record), Hull thrased Quins 28-4 and Bradford won 7-0 at Salford, sounds like a real thriller !

Newton has always been an idiot, who could ever forget the reconstruction job he did on Sean Long's face ( even if TBH he probably improved his looks! ) RL doesn't need players like him even though he was/is an excellent hooker.

I like this from the Sporting Life: http://www.sportinglife.com/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/10/02/26/SOCCER_Portsmouth_Snap.html "A major sell-off of players and the prospect of a long period of rebuilding in the Championship now looms " More likely rebuilding in Leagues 1 and 2 as we sail on past them, hopefully it will be shades of 1975/78. In 1975 we were both in Div 2, by 1978 we were in Div 1, Pompey in Div 4 and of course we won the FA Cup into the bargain. Those 3 years I was studying at Portsmouth Poly, what a great period that was

Terry went way beyond what footballers generally somehow get away with or are fined a pittance in terms of their salary. Don't really like him anyway but problem is England are suffering with several CB's carrying injuries. It's also so ironic that Bridge of course replaces Ashley Cole who is probably on a par with Terry in terms of how despicably they seem to think they can behave. Shameful, I cannot imagine how hard it is for Wayne right now. Am hoping he'll change his mind but I somehow doubt it
