Sorry Ponty, took me a week to spot this historic moment:D Seriously though it's fair to say just about the best time to be right, even thinking of scum like Gary Glitter makes me sick to the stomach, even castration doesn't come close to a punishment that fits the crime. Without obviously expanding on the point I have seen what child abuse can do. It's not at all nice.

Saints Web Horse Tipping Challenge July 2010

Well "4/1 ?" was meant to read 4/1 + so not a silly bet at just under 5's but would have been at 2/1 ! Chris
-
Somewhat of a frustrating day though both Dilys Maud and Marsh's Gift showed why they were 33/1 shots ! Mr Willis ran Ok but never looked like winning, 3rd at 7/1. Freddie's Gift as mentioned above ran his race and no complaints though of course had to finish 4th by a head at 10/1. Pebblesonthebeach I thought well and at least finished 3rd at 12/1 a neck ahead of Frankie's selection Serhal. Red Somerset was disappointing having drifted out to 9/1 and Fadr Al Bith a N/R. Chris

Don't need to calm down, just try to stop laughing:lol:

Freddies Girl ran a good race but just failed by a head to at least get me my place money, finishing in 4th. Frankie had a nice winner in Holoko Heights @ 9/2 and though Mad Jack Duncan obliged as well @ 2/1 by a neck I won't deny at that price I thought it was a silly bet ! Maybe Frankie has other ideas or hopefully got a bigger price ( 4/1? ) so looking forward to reading his thoughts:D

My reading of the question was that SS was referring to the nigh on invisible little dot along side your user name on each post. Clearly if you are offline/hidden it will just remain "white" though more a whitish grey colour and only shows as green when you are online. Fair to say that is guesswork especially as my user online light doesn't even come close to obscuring anything:D

STARTS THURSDAY JULY 15th ! 1) The challenge to be held on a monthly basis and for the sake of keeping it easier to follow a new challenge/thread each month. Overall winner at end of the year. 2) Clearly free for anyone to join and simply posting your first tip(s) means you are automatically in. 3) All bets to be win or ew singles only and settled at SP. UK/Irish Horse racing only 4) In order to be eligible to win you must post a minimum of 5 tips in any month. 5) Everyone to be allowed a NAP And nb best each day, not compulsory to have both but NAP to count 3 points, nb 1. Clearly NAP has to be win only , 0.5 ew for NB if applicable. So maximum of TWO bets on any given day. Hopefully I have covered everything but still time for edit/corrections. Good luck all, 1 unofficial rule : Whatever happens DON'T let Frankie win:D Chris

A few more for today : 4.20 - Catterick - Marsh's Gift - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 25/1 (General) The Prescott trained Allanah Abu, with Paul Hannagan booked, brings the best form to the table and is open to improvement. The yard have a good strike rate at the track but their inmate is priced accordingly at around 6/4. Magic Millie has been running to a consistent level and finally got her head in front last time out at Beverley. The step up to 12 furlongs for the first time could illicit further improvement. However, at a much bigger price, a small wager on Marsh's Gift could produce a return. Form figures of 0008 don't inspire confidence at first glance but, after three quick appearances in Maidens over 7/8 furlongs, there was more encouragement stepped up to ten furlongs on his handicap debut at Redcar last time out. He only finished 8/14, beaten just over six lengths, but he was doing all his best work late on without his jockey being hard on him. A further step up in trip could suit and it's interesting to note that connections have not been afraid to raise him in class. Although he has been ridden by competent claimers so far he gets professional handling for the first time today and, although it has come at a lowly level, he has improved with each outing to date. He needs to significantly progress again to be involved here but he didn't look a horse devoid of ability at Redcar and he has the scope for physical improvement. The yard have a had a few well backed over the past week suggesting that maybe they are running into form. 4.30 - Lingfield - Mr Willis -@ 7/1 (General) NAP Mr Willis endured a torrid time at Sandown last time out where he met trouble several times in the first furlong. That seemed to light him up somewhat and, overall, the run is probably best forgiven. He ran an eye-catching race in the Buckingham Palace Handicap at Ascot prior to that suggesting he is still very much at the top of his game. His returns to the polytrack at Lingfield today where he has a 5 from 8 record in handicaps. He drops back in grade after finishing midfield in his two most recent A/W outings in Jan/Feb and he could take advantage from what still looks an attractive handicap mark. His regular A/W jockey returns and the presence of a few prominent/front runners should ensure s decent gallop, which will suit. He is still relatively unexposed over today's trip and looks better value than a short priced favourite who could face competition for the lead. 8.50 - Kempton - Fadbh Ar Bith - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 11/1 (Skybet) Fadh Ar Bith was absent for 20 months prior to returning for new connections at Southwell in April. He showed he retained plenty of ability by finishing third when unfancied from a mark of 69. It's possible he suffered the 'bounce' back at the same venue over a mile next time out but he was back on track when going down less than a length in fourth at Beverley over seven furlongs last month. He travelled well, settling better, and responded well to pressure in the latter stages. The handicapper has left him on a mark of 69 which could be lenient considering the race contained some reliable yardsticks of whom the first, second and fifth have all run well since. After only eight races as a five year old the selection has the potential to improve again and his only previous race on polytrack resulted in a victory on his debut back in December 2007. 9.20 - Kempton - Dilys Maud - 2 point win, 1 point place @ 20/1 (General) Dily's Maud makes her handicap debut after three quick outings in Maidens. She was disappointing over six furlongs last time out at Warwick but had earlier shown ability over a mile at Lingfield. She wouldn't be badly handicapped judged on that effort and it looks worth risking that she can reproduce it back on a polytrack surface. Her Sister, Buxton, has proved fairly useful in a 51 race career and has winning form on the A/W from a mark as high as 80. Dily's Maud starts from a mark of 64 so there could be some room to manoeuvre. The yard have a dismal record at this track (3 from 112) but their representative is a big price in a race which lacks strength in depth. Good luck all, Chris

Just think TD and 2 others refused to go into the stalls and therefore W/D and all bets on them null and void, probably a nightmare to calculate the actual returns of the winner and placed horses with I think 3 rule 4 deductions ! NO rule 4 on the tipping challenge though of course N/R's and W/D horses void the bet.
-
To be honest it is of course a wide open race and much may depend on how the race is run, at least there is a fair chance one of us will find the winner though Frankie has tipped Miss Glitters as well so if you haven't placed a bet already don't !
-
From this thread Though since that isn't enforecable at least from the gee-gees tipping challenge at least until you stop being so awkward:D

Just 3 tips so far and the 1st doesn't run until 5.00 so I might add some more detailed analysis later. Ling 17:00 Freddies Girl 2point win, 1 point place : Stef Higgins trains this three year old who raced over five furlongs last time out but is switched back to six Today a move that hopefully will pay dividends and he should make the frame at least 19:50 Kemp Pebblesonthebeach 2 point win 1 point place : Michael Hills is on board this three year old gelding for trainer John Hills and having been off since his reappearance fifth at Epsom I suspect connections are hoping for a very good run today. Kemp 20:20 Red Somerset 3 point win 2 point place : The excellent Andrea Atzeni has the task of guiding this Michael Murphy trained seven year old home Tonight over the mile trip. I expect the pace to be fast and furious and for him to come home late with a wet sail. and hopefully record another course and distance success. Good luck

I haven't seen the race Frankie but will look at it later. It wasn't a bad day at all, in fact according to the TE I made 12 points profit. I did, as you will see, also want to oppose Tillietudlemin the 3.30 at Beverley and from 2, My Arch and Markington, I chose the former but at least one of us found the winner and even though I did finish the day in profit I'm also happy when I manage to read a race pretty well. Tips for today soon and then definitely at least one hours kip ! Chris

You are banned remember !

This seems appropriate,

TBH I think the only person who might have a gambling problem doesn't post on here any longer !

Oh, it's you again:rolleyes:
-
Well I'll just copy my post from the match thread, I doubt if the links will work but it's not that important. "Well that's not really a lot to go on TBH. Fraser Richardson has dislocated his shoulder apparently. Where have you heard this Swis? Another former heard it from Parky So essentially guesswork as we get on here and even IF true then it's usually just a couple of weeks complete rest and then rehab begins. NB Name actually spelt incorrectly on Charlton fan site. "

Thanks, I bookmarked it a while ago and do visit the site though maybe not as often as I should !
