  1. What is going on with Downes?!
  2. Some sort of correlation between the loudest opinions and the slowest to volunteer…. You should try an inter-club sized-based game, ours worked well in both football and cricket for their development. you won’t yet have reached the stage when the bigger lads get caught up, and then it’s the coaches’ fault that they didn’t develop into world beaters. You’ll enjoy that criticism😉
  3. Completely agree re size / puberty etc. We arranged a few inter-club games based on size rather than age - the best technical players naturally rose to the top (and the experience of the comparatively older players showed, in fairness), but it was a good lesson in showing boys/parents the truer order of things. Same applied in cricket too. I know NZ junior rugby is size rather than age-based, and from u12 onwards, that would make huge sense here too.
  4. It really is. I Wonder what his previous names here have been?
  5. The rabid ultras will be pleased - club rubbished reports of GO’N talks advancing.
  6. Wesley Hoedt right up there in appalling human being terms.
  7. He may be a bit shit. Everyone linked seems a bit shit to a greater or lesser degree. RM - too much water under that bridge, and I don’t suppose his experience in the PL or at Rangers will have helped him much, either in his own head or of those who would play under him. He’s more likely to surface at Norwich, imo.
  8. I’d shake on O’Neil. Seems like one of the better options out there. Faux rabid nonsense to reject him due to Skate past.
  9. We really need to judge him as an attacking outlet, and do that, we need players like Azaz to be able to complete routine through balls to him. Goals breed confidence, and that should have been a golden chance.
  10. Absolutely terrible
  11. God we’re feeble and clueless. Terrible set up, Robinson needs to play on the wing, he’s been terrible as AM / CF hybrid. I have no idea what we’re trying to play. I hate these players. Eckert in predictably tight chinos.
  12. I quite like scienza and Robinson, and fellows hasn't upset me yet. The rest of them can just about fuck off and become prostitutes for all I care.
  13. If, however, we find ourselves in the Feeble-minded, Midget & Malco Keeper league, we'd surely be favourites.
  14. You’d hope so, but the reality proves otherwise. Seemingly, building a media business in Eastern Europe required different skills that haven’t proved transferable. He doesn’t control that now, and who knows how much disposable income he has left to support this situation. It’s only going to get murkier with Solak (and Ankersen) at the helm.
  15. Yes, if Solak bought the nonsense Ankersen (and Kraft) spout - whose reputations were well known in the City and Football industry - it’s no great surprise we have ended up as we have. No structure; ill-defined roles; poor recruitment from top to bottom. The sooner Solak sells, the better.
  16. What we need right now is a young, inexperienced boss who has neither managed in England nor indeed anywhere. I assume he is Smithers to Spors’s Monty Burns.
  17. It’ll be Lallana for a while - they’ll hope he can make a permanent claim. God knows what they’ll do once he fails.
  18. If you want to be the best, and you want to beat the rest, oooohhh Sport Republic’s what you need
  19. This was not a job for a young manager with no experience in England nor with managing relegated teams. He unravelled today.
  20. The worst in-game subs management I’ve ever seen
  21. Man with previously unimpressive track record continues in same vein in new job. He was like a kid in a sweet shop in the transfer window, throwing money at positions we didn’t need and mid-identifying requisite skills and strengths. Can only question Solak’s judgement in recruiting him. Same concern applies re Solak opting to get into bed with Kraft and Ankersen. Pretty clear where the root cause lies.
  22. Yes, naive to think a young manager without his own coaching team around him would be able to manage the huge squad overhaul that was inevitable this summer. He sounded bitter in the post match Blackmore interview - he won't have faced anything like this level of expectation before in his career, which makes the appointment all the harder to understand.
  23. Still's job is to get the best out of the best players in the squad. Azaz Fellows Robinson and Scienza are our best attacking players, but only one starting is a terrible indictment on the manager.
  24. fear that ship has already sailed alas....
