All they had to do was ask some questions - not level accusations. That shouldn't get them sued. Are they afraid of losing access? Or simply gutless?
-
Glad to have brightened your day. The problem for me is not so much what's being said but the fact that there are people on here with multiple personas, and some with an agenda of their own, trying to play everyone for fools. Nobody's going to lose a limb over it but it's a pain in the ass.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=162171&highlight=monotonous#post162171 (Post 36) Just wondering if these two people are actually one and the same. It's such an unusual turn of phrase, for this forum anyway. God, I hate this multiple persona thing.

I think I've mentioned the old Polish proverb on here before: "Even a stopped clock is right twice a day" Rupert's strategy for football club governance. Trouble is, we're running out of hours.
-
There's a joke there somewhere but I'm not touching it!
-
Scared of Rupert? Loss of access? The Echo has been called all sorts of things but I hope to God they're not gutless. Someone in the media needs to ask questions like these.
-
Rupert detests leaks. He'll do whatever he needs to do to stop them.
-
I just have one question, because answers to all the others will flow from that. Are the three major shareholders willing to take this club into administration because they can't set aside their egos and personal differences?
-
That's probably pretty accurate. It's sad, really, because he could be a heck of a player, given good coaching.
-
How long has everyone on the forum been saying that? The point is that it hasn't happened. Perhaps "had" would be a more appropriate word than "have". Others would need to match Leon's contribution, relatively speaking, or he'd have to be nuts to make it. It would be like giving his money to Lowe and Wild, and I suspect he'd rather have daily enemas for the rest of his life.
-
Dave, I agreed with most of what you said on another thread regarding the need for width, but don't look to Dyer for it. He continually cuts inside, often up blind alleys, and doesn't always track back defensively. Unless someone (who?) can get these problems out of his system and get him to skin a full back down the line I fear he wouldn't add much.
-
There's something about Rupert that makes me think he's always got some kind of snide plan in play. He's like an upper crust Del Boy ... and about as successful. I wouldn't trust him as far as I can p*ss him, and as I can't even p*ss p*ss very far these days, that's not very far at all.
-
I wouldn't overestimate this but I wouldn't rule it out either. SMS is Premiership-calibre ground with a top quality playing surface. That provides more inspiration to opponents than it does to us, because we play there every week.
-
Wouldn't it be fair to say, though, that the biggest obstruction to new ownership has been the inability of the Big Three to get their act together? While other (then less attractive) clubs have found buyers, anyone interested in us has lost interest after encountering the poisonous ownership situation. I agree that it's not likely, Ron, but I wouldn't rule it out. Something big has to be forcing these guys to meet.
-
Perhaps the tranch that keeps us out of administration, Ron?
-
Yes, it won't be nice, but we don't need the to like eachother and play footsy under the Board table. We need them to get their sh*t together and run this club the way it deserves to be run. But we've needed that for how long now? Oh well, they say it's never too late, but I have a ton of doubts.
-
If it's happening it must surely have been triggered by something big on the horizon - a joint willingness to sell and get the hell out, impending administration, a willingness to jointly and equally pump some money in, a joint willingness to take on another major shareholder. What else? I can't see it being just to take Lowe out of the firing line and de-tooth Crouch, Dave. Leon's not that stupid - or, probably, forgiving.
-
Two old sayings spring to mind: The first one is "Necessity is the mother of invention". The second one has something to do with a stable door and a horse charging off into the distance, out of control. I'm sure there are plenty of others.
-
Of course he must, and so must Wilde, but the following part of Wilde's statement shows that this kind of logic only applies to other people, not themselves: It's obscene that they get to make so many mistakes, to bring a club to its knees, and yet are completely immune to the consequences of their actions.
-
(Underlined for emphasis) Oh, really? When did that start? Never in the field of professional football has so much been f*cked up by so few with such little consequence. Reference to the scoreboard, my arse.
-
Dead right, Norm. And let's not forget this (from his bio on the OS): It's sickening how Rupert has this habit of taking (mis-selecting) a good man and crunching him into submission.
-
Resignation, eh? So there's probably a Non Disclosure Agreement then to protect Rupert from true stories. God, we've signed more NDAs than players in the past five years.

Dave, I fear that relegation and administration will go hand in hand, in that order or the reverse order. Duncan, if Wilde is that unnerved by a bit of heat from the fans (partially aimed at him) is it likely that he'd be willing to step into the kitchen (running the club as opposed to propping Rupert up)? -

As much as I wish them good luck, I think there are only three ways in which this group can make any impact: 1) By gathering enough shares to pose a threat to Lowe and his controlling group (or convincing a large chunk of that group to desert him), 2) By finding a basis for a court challenge based on abuse of minority shareholders rights - and pursuing it, 3) By garnering enough publicity to unsettle Lowe (or to unsettle the major debt holders to the point at which they act). The odds are heavily stacked against all three, especially as they don't seem to be developing any kind of alternative to Lowe. So that leaves us in the same place - drifting towards the tragic relegation/administration combo. Still, good luck to them. -

Hi Dave, and to you. Yes, I'm interested but the five games I attended this year depressed the sh*t out of me, and I can't see things getting better until the whole ownership and coaching thing is brought to a head. The alternative is death by a thousand cuts/false economies, which is the way we're heading. I don't see enough games to offer any kind of informed opinion on the footy side but I can wade in on this stuff.
