Usually players are worse for England than their club side. Lambert may be the opposite :-) Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4

Fair play Welbeck. Good finish for the second goal. But he does do some really awful things for a professional footballer. Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4

He was always going to score eventually. Just a shame its taken several chances.

Hahah Welbeck gets a yellow card. Not for playing on, but because it was such a terrible effort on goal. Deserved it.

Welbeck having a mare. Utterly useless! Sent from my TouchPad using Tapatalk 4

Every time I've seen Zaha he's been crap. Dancing about all over the pitch taking one touch too many and trying to beat everyone. Only 20 of course, but extremely frustrating player. Hopefully he'll come good for England's sake. As a team I thought there was spells where England had too many individuals and not working as a team. Players shooting, taking the chances themselves when better options were available. Ward-Prowse was tidy but bypassed a lot by some of the egos unfortunately as he's a team player. Shaw was class enough to shine through of course.

Did you ever manage to shift these? I've got some to get rid of and it seems a shame to just chuck 'em.

Hope you're right Steve. It'd be amazing to see him start!

I expect England to play Wellbeck up front with a 5 man midfield. He may get on toward the end if that approach doesn't work.

A serious transfer window review thread...
BotleySaint replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
Does anyone know what actually happens to players such as Barnard, Sharp and Lee if they don't get a club before the end of the loan window. Do they still turn up for training every day? Do they train with the reserves / youth team? I mean, especially for someone like Lee Barnard who hasn't played for us for some time now. Do they just sit around at home and play Fifa? Genuinely wondering, does anyone know? -
Exactly. As pleased as I am for Bale that he will play for one of the top clubs - it is tainted by the fact his transfer breaks the barrier yet again of what players can cost and be paid. It's a bad thing for football that such figures are quoted and presents a very skewed view of what is important in the world.

Ban all posts until at least an hour after the game finishes?

To be fair though, Defoe has more goals so far this season (albeit against a pub side) and Rickie hasn't look that dangerous in the league.

Official: Saints academy player most expensive player ever
BotleySaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Wish him all the best in Spain. Hopefully he can stay clear of injuries that so often ruin things and produce some good football in partnership with the other stars they have. I do have a feeling he's a tad over-priced though! -
Regarding Wanyama and all our new players really... I think they just need time to adjust to the Premier League. There is going to be a transitional period in some games where they adapt to playing in different types of games.
-
This would surely be a chance for some match fitness for those guys. But I guess they aren't training either at the moment ?
-
No sign of Hammond, Sharp, Barnard, Lee amongst others. Yet they haven't moved on either. So.. they are in a Ryan Dickson style limbo until their contracts are up?
-
You really have to wonder what Defoe does to get in the squad. As well as Ashley Young. I'd rather have Puncheon over Young :-)
-
Not sure how he scored over 30 goals last year in Holland.

No-one wants to watch the game on an empty stomach

Surely destined for England duty. But let's hope not too soon!

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland

Very poor ref. Osvaldo lucky to stay on the pitch. -
One point is better than none. But it should have been three.

Finally!!!! Now hang on!
