I see too many of our players not wanting to take responsibility when attacking. Much rather play the ball off to someone else than try to take it on and shoot.

To be fair they aren't great at the back either. Quite a few mistakes and a lot of space. We just aren't exploiting it enough.

Not sure you can even call it a "defence". Lots of people running around but no-one actually getting the ball. Vest too slow to react there.

They've got the advantage of 2 strikers who know how to score in this league. Players with that extra bit of quality required. We've got a guy who has never scored for us leading the line. Too much pinned on hope.

We will know a lot more about the season ahead after the next few. They look winnable on paper, we ought to be getting points in these games. We'll find out if playing it on the cheap (relatively speaking) and relying on Ralph's ability to improve what we've got is going to pay off. Certainly far too early to say we are going down. There are encouraging signs from the Liverpool game and we've yet to see the best of the new signings.

Some good signs. But we need to play like that against the lesser teams. Which is where we often fail!

Considering the gulf in quality and expense we aren't doing that badly. Unfortunately it's against the teams more equal to us that we fail.
