Donations via bucket collection
saints_is_the_south replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
Like i said, i know it won't amount to a massive amount of money but surely every little helps? If it raises enough to pay the stewards wages tomorrow then it will be worth it IMO. -
Donations via bucket collection
saints_is_the_south replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
This was my plan but first i wanted to gauge how many volunteers I'd get...etc before i went telling the media about it. Once i have something for definate i'll get in touch with the echo, south today...etc If anybody has contact details for any media connections please pm them to me. cheers. -
Hopefully this isn't too late but I'm going to try & set up a bucket collection for tomorrow. I'd like to have between 6 & 10 volunteers to basically give up their Saturday morning to walk around Southampton city centre with a bucket trying to get people to put any sort of cash in the buckets. Once i have news from the club on their fund raising ideas which should be appearing on the OS at some stage today i'll be able to get something more concrete together. I know the money raised through this won't be an awful late but we haven't got enough time to be sat around doing nothing, so whilst bigger plans to help save the club are being thought through lets make a start with this. At the very least it might be enough to pay some of the stewards or ticket office staff's wages tomorrow which will help the club no end. Please PM me if you fancy it & i hope to get back to you this afternoon with more details. Cheers PS Sticky please mods?

Just heard from David Luker & he said the club hope to have fundraising ideas published on the OS at some stage today.

Just had this email from David Luker.

Fair play Leon, always liked the guy & as others have said although i would prefer a clean sweep of the boardroom i would have no problems with LC heading up or being involved in some form of consortium.

How much would you put in to own our club
saints_is_the_south replied to derry's topic in The Saints
Perhaps if we the fans were to raise a few million we could then join forces with a wealthy local businessman or consortium & add the money we'd raised to help the cause on understanding that we fans who had pledged money were all to be allowed to have a say in how the club is run. -

Well i make it £320k raised & thats without including the 10 who voted £5k plus in under 2 hours. Even if we couldn't raise enough to actually own the club then 320k would go hell of a long way to making sure we make it to the summer & give the administrators a bit more time to find a buyer, -

I'm good for £500 & that would be a push but i'd be willing to put it forward. If i could somehow raise any more then i will. -

This too is true. Any other managed with even a slight percentage more competence would have got us promoted with the squad at his disposal that season. Still, for me the large proportion of blame will always fall at Lowe's door.

So what is it lol? 19.5k, 24k or 26k? Say its 24k. At the moment there are just under 19 business hours until kick off. Taking account of block 43 being closed & there being a few hundred empty seats in Charlton's section i reckon there must be about 6.5k tickets left. Thats only 342 tickets to shift an hour. A full house should be a real possibility, not forgetting online sales either.
-
What on earth gave you the impression that i was celebrating? Far from it, I'm as down in the dumps at the moment as every other true Saints fan is & that is due to realising the threat on the club's existence. I was simply stating that the club must have sold more than 19.5k tickets otherwise i didn't think that they would consider opening the corners until a few thousand more had been sold.
-
There must be more than 19.5k sold if they've decided to open the corners surely? I'd hazard a guess at the sold total being nearer 22 or 23k at the moment. Lets hope so anyway.

I thought they only reduced them last week?

Southampton til i die. Yours Truley Lee Roberts.

Good news. When i phoned up earlier i was on hold for a good 5 minutes so i assumed they were busy. It would be amazing to see St Marys full again, but i'd settle for 25-28k too.

Or dare i say it, the train picture!?!?

Is a ground share with Pompey the best solution?
saints_is_the_south replied to Topcat's topic in The Saints
This will never happen in a million years. HTH. -
Couldn't think where else to put this so what the heck might as well open a new thread, everyone else seems to be doing it! I sent this to David Luker earlier & got the following response. Reply: Any other ideas apart from donation buckets or text message service (which i admittedly took from another posters thread)? As David said, for now all we can do is get to St Marys on Saturday. A full house is a MUST imo.
