  1. Well, the future is Orange.
  2. I've said it before, "the financial crisis" is being used to justify whatever it is Lowe wants to do. We are certainly up against it, but I do not believe any more so than many other clubs who are not constantly banging this drum. Lowe will announce whenever it suits his purpose that "firm ation" taken on the financial position has put us is a stronger position. That'll be when the wheels look to have fallen off and he needs to take a change in direction. About the beginning of November I reckon, when we will be scatching round for loans. Yes things are tight, but I fear will very much tighter when results don't come and the crowds reduce even more - and that's just when Lowe will say "things are on a sounder footing"... I go by the universal truth in The Good Book - The Emperor's New Suit by Hans Christian Andersen - a dose of scepticism is healthy, even if you non-stop happy-clap at matches.
  3. The first bit relates to what fans should do at matches. The second bit relates to what coaches and players can do, not fans. I thought a forum is a discussion place where people talk about how we played and how things might go in future. You seem to just want people to come on here and say "Up the Saints" and "Come on you Reds". Not really much discussion there.
  4. And instead of searching for experience and ability (which could well be out there at a reasonable cost if we really looked hard) we are gambling on untested youngsters who (most fans would probably admit if they were honest) look decidedly light-weight. Pre-season certainly isn't real-time CCC football, and I am very worried that the window will close, and we'll be stuffed until January. We've brought in coaches who really do not know CCC football, who will know very little about british players at this level, who will be relying on Hockaday for information, and we have wasted much of the summer waiting for the experiment to begin. I really hope it comes off, now they've committed the club to this path, but I do think it is naive in the extreme.
  5. If they could remember our secret weapon it wouldn't be a secret, would it?
  6. And I'd like to know the definition of "comfortably mid-table", just in case the revolutionary set up looks like guiding us there.
  7. We hear this a lot, but no one ever comes up with some facts that back up the claim. Yes we produced Walcott & Bale recently but are people seriously suggesting that is enough to support the assertion? Have no other clubs in the division produced any decent players over the last few years? No doubt a few other players could be added to our list of Academy products, but where is the analysis of the output from other CCC clubs' youth set-ups so that we can have a comparison instead of just a statement of belief?
  8. Well constructed? He clearly doesn't understand the concept of paragraphs....which probably means he has difficulty linking ideas together properly. Having tried on his own and but quickly and abjectly failed, he has, like most people lost in a world they don't undertand, turned to the received wisdom of new religion, with Rupert and SCW as high priests to tell him what to do and say. But he has one thing right - the professional football business is now one in the process of consolidation, and, because one club cannot buy out another, consolidation will happen through the "wastage" of smaller clubs. The lower division(s) will turn increasingly part-time, and clubs like Saints, if they survive at all, will become in effect feeder (or developmental associate) clubs of the elite. One could even suspect that Sneiderlin (can't be bothered to check the spelling) might be one step on from what Lowe worked out in relation to the Walcott situation ... have we got him "on a kind of hidden loan" from Arsenal while he develops, and provided that he matures as expected, the deal will be completed i.e. we will be paid for our "input"? But if it is entertainment you want, that kind of arrangement might be ok.. it just further weakens the concept of "the club supporter".
  9. What on earth do you mean, I've NEVER blamed anyone for anything (without struggling to maintain a straight face). Pick the bones out of that bit of ironic double-talk.
  10. Is it ironic that someone who berates the blame game in his opening few words then immediately launches a new blame game post? Or are you just being ironically ironic? An existential philosophic point... if blame game discussions weren't started, would anyone be to to blame?
