  1. Couldn't be bothered to read all this guff before, but I love the golden duo's promise to "mix style with steel" right at the end. Best laugh I've had this week. So far it's more like a mix of candy floss with aluminium foil.
  2. But he said he wasn't sure - how has "possibly" helped him?
  3. Interesting post. Presumably the statement that we are playing young players who know each other from the youth team and reserves means little if McGoldick is told to play wide, with Lallana playing in the hole? In your opinion is there something wrong with the way JP is using these players at the moment?
  4. And how do you offload someone you won't even put in the store room window, let alone in the shop window.
  5. There you go again, back with your bottom fixation.
  6. Spot on. There was another post on here that spoke of our fragility at the back post. Exactly the same as when Niemi played.
  7. I haven't seen one comment in the news that the credit crunch isn't the result of green men from Mars either. So there we have it, the credit crunch IS the fault of green martians.
  8. Because when 2 of your 3 don't drop back to support the fullbacks, the 2 holders have to pull wider. And if the 2 of the 3 who didn't drop back in the first place still don't drop inside to replace the holders, you are weak down the flanks and then weak when the ball inside comes. 442 gives more 'natural' cover in front of the full back. But you are right to an extent - it is more about attitude and concentration. But if you are playing McGoldrick (who thinks of himself as a bit of a cenre forward) as wide one of your 3, in front of a weak full back, what do you expect will happen?
  9. Cliff Huxford for me
  10. I'm glad to see that you do indeed have one brain cell, and am relieved that the 'if it was removed' in your response does imply you continue to retain it. I will say you manage to use that cell quite successfully in an off-beat neo-humourous fashion. I may have lost an S along the way - maybe I left it on the bench just before Hughie sat down in 1976. I'll admit I got a few sideways looks when I shouted "Come on you aints" when Bobby's bobbler went in that far corner.
  11. You finish up very strangely by saying people who might voicie an opinion about Lowe's view would be spouting bile, but you are able to voice opinions on how you think Wilde and Crouch would view things. I don't think Lowe wants to dispose of his shares, full stop. My opinion, but is it bile?
  12. Yep, Dr. Lowe is diagnosing again...
  13. Someone has already taken the words out of my mouth - I was about to say he'll probably have an attitude problem and/or is coming back from injury - and we do so like lightweight players. But I guess he'll be on low(ish) wages. Lets hope he's not just another Dyer-type.
  14. Wah, do they do produce would-be footballers that way in Belgium as well as Austria?
  15. So what if it doesn't make sense from a footballing/team perspective? Is finance the ONLY consideration?
  16. Thanks for taking the time to make your suggestion but I’ll need to take issue with your proposition that I should have used AND rather than OR. Following your own logic, a single brain cell organism couldn’t count at all and so would not be able to attempt counting even as far as one. Therefore I couldn’t possibly have used AND in my conjunction of questions, it had to be an OR. I’m sorry you were unable to follow a consistent line of reasoning; you must have been overly preoccupied with that bum-love you were talking about. Perhaps a subliminal enthusiasm you are trying subconciously to supress by projecting it onto others?
  17. Who on earth is this retard? Have you got a brain cell, or do you find it hard to count to one?
  18. I don't know why putting forward a sceptical or even a critical point of view is thought to be 'moaning'. The sceptical point of view may be proved wrong, but it isn't moaning. The major moaners are those who don't think a critical viewpoint should even be allowed, let alone expressed.
  19. Now, if you'd said you were about to glory in your own basque, a lot more might have taken notice.
  20. I had you down as one who was supportive of the experiment with youth. Have you become as cynical about it as this post suggests?
  21. I don't understand those "hardcore" fans (season ticket holders) who berate people for not turning up thus depriving the club of revenue, but then complain that if the club now sold cheaper tickets those that have already bought would be annoyed! Maybe the way forward is to reward existing season ticket holders with offers of money off their next year's renewal if you get a mate to buy a reduced price season ticket this year.
  22. And having inspected it carefully, Scooby would be reporting his finding of gold nuggets therein.
  23. It is a shame, but he does sound as if he is getting rather depressed. I have obviously been one of the critics of the "experiment" from the outset, but I don't like to see people out of their depth and having their health suffer as a result, so for his sake I hope the guy is a lot more resilient than he is begining to sound.
  24. The difference is that they are doing it with run of the mill championship sides but we are doing it with a run of the mill championship club's youth side.
  25. No he isn't right, its just his point of view. Another point of view is that there are probably 15 or more sides in the CCC equally stapped for cash, and they are not all bewailing the fact and accepting that relegation may be inevitable. This club has embarked on a course that was one option - not all the other hard-up clubs are following that course because however hard up a club is there are always alternatives. It all depends on how hard you try to find them and how flexible you are when one course of action seems to be failing. Yes, you still might fail, but as they say, at leat die trying everything you can.
