Depends on how he is helping to pay the mortgage and the loan. If he is paying to you and you then paying the bank then he won't have a leg to stand on. If he pays the bank directly it becomes a bit more complicated. You'd need to work out how much of all mortgage payments have been capital and how much interest (shouldn't be too hard from the statements), and then how much capital he has paid off. Morally it depends if the intention was always for him to pay part of the mortgage or he was in efect renting half the house from you as the sole owner.

Woah there! Right, before I start, I've only read Steve's summary. I'll probably download a copy when I get to work tomorrow and will post if something else major comes up. I don't think that anybody thought that we are operating at a profit at the moment did they? That said £6.7m is more than I expected. Its a problem if it coninues indefinately but isn't too concerning in the short term. Nice to see cash in the bank, however given that at the end of June a fair amount of season ticket cash will have just been received so if there weren't cash in hand I'd be concerned. Yes there is debt, it is all due to the Liebherrs (or Liebherr controlled entities). Given that we have made a loss of nearly £8m we are going to have to owe somebody money (as thankfully the money chicken petting zoo never came to pass). Better that it is the Liebherrs than a bank. The debt is also not due for over 5 years indicating that there is some sort of formal agreement in place. I'd be amazed if the auditors (who are they by the way?) were prepared to sign off on them as over 5 years without seeing some formal confirmation. There are a multitude of tax reasons to put the money in as debt rather than equity. Ultimately, if the Liebherrs decide to withdraw support (which the going concern note suggests is not the case in the next 12 months at least) we have a problem but 1) we knew this anyway and 2) Its not an insurmountable one. Prior to going into admin we had a problem becuase we owed money to a 3rd party (Barclays and Aviva), who held a debenture, giving them the right to appoint an administrator and so the ability to force our hand. Now we owe money to the owner(s) who would be stupid to make any similar moves if they wanted out as it would massively reduce the value of the asset that they were trying to sell. Probably £1m p.a. plus Employers NI?

Exactly. Actually you can probably make that before.

Lol. Only just caught up on this. If the few pay by credit card and the club stops trading in the summer then they will all go straight to their card companies to get the transaction refunded. Given that Poopey will have already spent the money and there will be no way for the card company to get the money back from the club they will be left with a massive loss (as they will still refund the fans). The card providers clearly think that there is a decent risk that this could happen and so aren't prepared to hand the cash over to the club until the games are played and their exposure is removed. If the fans take out a loan from Zebra Finance to pay for their ticket and the club goes under in the summer then they will still have to make the repayments to Zebra and will have to try and get their season ticket money back from the Administrator/Liquidator. They will be unsecured creditors and I'd be willing to bet wouldn't get a penny.

Ah... the EDL. Everyone's favourite cheeky scamps.

Dune, are you a member of the EDL? -
A brighton fan in our office looks like he's going to explode every time we talk about football. He went especially mental after Adkins said that every team in this league considers us to be their cup final, insisting that "not to us it isn't we're top of te league". I've tried to explain that it was probably intended as more of a general comment rather than referring to EVERY team but he's not having any of it. I've considered telling him about the "We're Southampton we do what we want" chant but I think he'd actually sh*t his pants in the middle of the office.

The change in our play when he went off last night was quite alarming. Why does nobody else seem to want to drive the ball forward into the box?

I'm in!

It could be worse. I've just had a meeting booked in for 5.30 near st pauls. I think I need to be out of the building by 7 to male the 19.17 from london bridge. Its going to be very close. If anybody sees an overweight, out of breath chap in a suit show up late, that's probably me.

Just got home and tested to see how hot its getting and it does seem to have got very hot very quickly. I can't see any obvious blockage on the fan outlet grill. Is it worth opening everything up to see if I can find anything blocked? I'd be quite wary of my fat fingers breaking something. Is it usually possible to buy a more powerful fan? I guess it depends on the model.

Thanks Hutch, I should have said that its a laptop so opening the case is a little tricky. It has been running reasonably hot recently I suppose but it isn't always hot when the flickering starts. if I alt tab away from the game then the flickering seems to stop.

My screen has started a weird flickering. I am getting an irregular black flickering when playing games. Almost the whole screen (all except the top cm or so) flashes black, for just a fraction of a second. It can happen anything from 10 minutes or so apart to just a few seconds and although not making the machine unasable is increadibly annoying. I don't think (although I'm a complete IT dunce) its a hardware issue as it is limited to when I'm playing games. Could it be some sort of clash between direct x and something else that's running in the background? It happens even if the game is the only program actively running. Any ideas guys? Any help much appreciated. CS

If your P60 says that you paid no tax then as far as hmrc are concerned you haven't paid anything and so you're unlikely to get anywhere. You best bet is to try and get hold of somebody at boots (good luck) to challenge what they've paid you. If you can show them your P60, the discrepancy with your monthly pay slips and show that the amounts hitting your account match the pay slips (from which tax was wrongly deducted) you might get somewhere but its likely to be a struggle.
-
Nope. If you've stopped working (which I'm guessing from your post) then you need a P50 http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/pdfs/p50.pdf
-
Do you have a P60 for the 09/10 tax year from boots? It should be very easy to reclaim. You can fill in a reclaim form fairly easily. from recollection you need an R80 form but I'll try and take 5 minutes to check later on today. Drop me a pm if you need a hand.

Has to be marcus. White hair, stuff a pillow up the inside of you shirt (if required) adopt a HUGE grin and wave toblerone boxes in the air. The chants of "win ot for marcus" won't stop all day

FM11 - Patch 11.3 (8th March 2011)

Do you have a link for the level 10 database? -
You're assuming that Dr Fatty wasn't (isn't) an idiotic gob****e. I can beleive that he could get his hands on a loan of £5m-£10m if only on a short term basis. I would guess that he then shat himself when he had to find the funds to pay it back and was forced to sell again. the 5% was only ever a token gesture to allow him to pretend that he hadn't done a stupid deal and attempt to save face. Regardless of anything else I beleive that Sasha is a LOT more on the ball than fatty and will not have given the club away without being paid something.
-
Naivety doesn't really come into it. I was just stating facts (as best we know them anyway). If you have the time you can almost certainly find out how much Dr fatty paid by trawling back through this thread. From recolection it was £5m - £10m but am happy to be corrected. Do you really think that Sasha will have given him the club for nothing? As for the liquidators report, if you read what I wrote you'll see that we actually agree. The consideration is all deferred and none has yet been paid. I wouldn't be at all surprised if none is ever paid. EDIT: Actually, being honest saying that I'm stating "Facts" is probably a bit OTT. It is possible that no money changed hands but I doubt it.
