Thoughts are with you and your family, Noodles. As a father of two young boys, I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through. RIP Elijah, sounds like he was a true Saint and a top human being.

Let’s judge the squad at the end of August, I’m hopeful we will have a good go 🤞😇

Whatever Puma release will look fantastic compared to that monstrosity, I see what they are doing!

Everton’s new stadium is looking decent and will assist with supplementing their spend budgets in time. For a sustainable club like ours, we need to be similarly maximising our match day income. I would agree that we are not yet in the place to do that as relegation is a threat and we will not be selling more tickets in the championship. Trouble is, unless we do get further investment, won’t relegation always be a real possibility? Everton have lucked out surviving in the PL over the last 3 seasons given this new stadium has been under construction since 2021.

Southampton are showing interest in Brazilian midfielder, Andre. Fulham, Brentford, Monaco, Atalanta, Stuttgart, Porto, Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United are also keen on the 22 year-old. [@GraemeBailey]🥉#SaintsFC

Clearly going to be this Puma template with the stripes having a side panel rounding them off. I wouldn’t want the sides to be black though, looks odd and very Brentford. Sponsor wise, aren’t we getting a new one for next season? Unless Sportsbet.io renew? Thats Lens, Paraguay and Milan all having that similar template, for context.

Is it not possible we do both? Otherwise I’d agree it’s not encouraging.

Wolves have made a contract offer to Che Adams but other sides remain in the frame, including Southampton #saintsfc @TheAthleticFC

Sometimes you can try to be too clever. I’ve seen it all before when a team has a sustained period of success and touches that glass ceiling (not just Saints!). Start to believe your own hype and the downward trend follows. They have got so much right recently and this may well be another success, but when your club is at its highest status ever, I think you need to take advantage of that and attract an experienced manager that can help take you to the next level. Look at what Emery has done at Villa as an example of an experienced and proven (at the higher levels) coach, delivering in breaking through the glass ceiling for Villa last season.

Besiktas manager, Van Bronckhorst wants Joe Aribo this summer. The Turkish club will make contact regarding conditions soon [@gurkanborangil] Southampton are interested in the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The #SaintsFC academy graduate wants to come back to England [@gurkanborangil] Southampton have lost out on one of their ‘top targets’ due to being too slow, that’s according to Danish outlet Bold. Goalkeeper Patrick Pentz has signed a four-year contract with Danish club Brondby, joining the side on a permanent basis from Bayer Leverkusen [Bold]

https://x.com/fabrizioromano/status/1800061334244983240?s=46&t=7raSKCMt6LV8RJ1C2d39WQ Looks like Brighton have found their next manager. Hurzeler is only 31yo and just got St Pauli promoted to the Bundesliga. You’d imagine Martin would have been of interest but we can put that minor worry in the bin now and see if some stability in the dugout helps us this season.

This is what I thought might have happened. Perhaps a gentleman’s agreement stopped by others leaving. Pretty sure the same happened with Schneiderlin. It’s a problem born out of the ‘stepping stone’ club position we used to attract players, with the players that were here already wanting some of same. No doubt toys were thrown out of the pram. I recall a referee at the time saying Lallana had ‘changed’ after how he acted playing for us away at Everton. I didn’t like how he left, as our captain and one of our own etc. However you can’t just ignore what he achieved for us, sticking with us to get us from league one -10 to top 8 in the PL. You could argue by this time he owed us nothing, as much as it stung when he left. Ironically it actually funded our most successful period in my time watching us. For me it’s not that he left, it’s how he left, but he had enough credit in the bank to not turn him into a villain for a decade.

Giving me more Sunderland vibes than Saints for some reason. Not great but we have had much worse. Having stripes only on the bottom of the back always looks odd too.
-
If there was a super league, wouldn’t they all just continue to poach our best players who would dream of playing in it for the crazy wages?

Jones and Quansah also cut from the squad. 4 more to go.
