Away kit looks nice. It appears the sportsbet logo is block white, normally they drop the block colour on solid shirts and just have the text, which looks better IMO. Might just be the photo though? Just a tad more simple than last seasons away shirt!

I think I’ve read somewhere that he would want to go back to Sunderland if it was another Championship loan. Wouldn’t be surprised if we are interested though, looks a talent and proved he can be a big player in the championship last season.

I think Edozie will be a far more effective player in the championship. His dribbling is very impressive and he will have a bit more time to make the right decision in this league. Look how that extra bit of time and consistent playing time turned Tella into a £15-20m player. Far too soon to write him off IMO.

He’s actually 39, 40 in December!

Fonte spoke out years later on a podcast, saying his request was to have the 2nd highest salary at the club. I’m guessing at the time that might have been £80k/week, maybe less? Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but maybe we should have paid it and kept our leader. Guess we will never know.

Jose Fonte baby, Jose Fonte ohhhhhhhh!

Surely there is not a scenario where we sell Prowsey for £20-25m?

Seems like a good amount of competition for his signature, which is encouraging. I agree we need a balance of potential and experience and expect to see that come 1st September. Being a level down, some of these kids might flourish. McAtee and Doyle were impressive last season but Delap didn’t pull up any trees.

It’s nice to hear people’s Saints stories though and why they follow the biggest team on the south coast 😇 -
He’s not going to be on high wages and this kid can only get better. 4 years left on his contract. Out of all potential sales this is the one we should hold firm on price for. He’s worth his valuation IMO. Pay up or miss out, someone will bite.

Liverpool doing their usual thing of trying to force the price down. They have signed plenty of players from relegated teams to force value in the past: Robertson, Shaqiri and Wijnaldum are just some examples.

Surely we can’t be too far away from the away kit announcement?

My Dad and all his family are from Salisbury. He was a season ticket holder for many years at Saints until he met my Mum and moved up north (where I have lived for my entire life). I have only ever supported Saints but have no ‘connection’ to the city outside of supporting the club. I live less than 20 miles from Old Trafford and stuck with Saints throughout United’s dominance, despite all my mates supporting them. I have a 20 month old son who’s already on his third saints kit and another boy on the way later this year. I’ll be trying to get them both to avoid supporting City or United and stick with our family club. Some might not agree but I think choosing your club on family tradition is pretty logical and being able to go to games with 4 generations in the near future will be pretty special for my family. -
Promotion experience is a very fair point. Farke does also have 2 relegations (pretty much) on his CV, a weird 6 week spell at Krasnodar and a year at Monchengladbach where he maintained their 10th place from the season before. They had finished top 4 not long ago. Call me optimistic but I think we are still yet to see Martin’s ceiling with better resources at his disposal. It would have been nice to have past experience of completing this season objective though, that doesn’t appear to be our way.
-
JWP has no reason to speak about his future to strangers but playing devils advocate, not knowing where he is playing next season could also mean that we are still an option? I’m hoping he wouldn’t leave us for a club like Fulham but sadly it looks the most likely option at the moment.
-
With Farke set to be named Leeds manager tomorrow, who out the relegated clubs has appointed the best manager do we think? I think it might be us.
-
I agree, he will have much more time on the ball in this league and it’s maybe worth risking a free transfer if we think he could fire us back to the PL. Better the devil we know?
-
Do we see Flynn Downes as the Lavia replacement? He seems great at winning the ball and starting attacks, and keeping possession under pressure.
-
Would be quite funny if they were the team that signed him, having witnessed ‘that’ miss/handball at their place last season.
