  1. SHOP WINDOW ALERT!
  2. This is very true. The Jeremy Wisten case bought this to light recently. The James Morris Instagram post struck a chord with me - he’s supported the club all this time and has come up through the ranks for more than half of his life. It must be brutal to leave. You could look at it another way - the club announcing it and wishing them good luck doesn’t change the fact that we’ve done it, though.
  3. What would give us a boost (aside from signing good players) is to absolutely get our pre-season fitness spot on.
  4. I blame 1 man. Dalian Wanda.
  5. Unsure if this counts as new news, but apparently the 2nd loan to Stoke is no longer happening. https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-stoke-norwich-city-transfer-5451463
  6. Linked with Turkish loan move: http://sportwitness.co.uk/manager-keen-bring-southampton-forward-summer/
  7. No problem. If I see anything else, I’ll post it on here to keep your list updated. Imagine there’s still a fair few to leave yet. It is strange how hush-hush we keep it.

  9. James Morris leaving us. Nice post from him.
  10. Signed for Woking... https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/non-league-side-snap-up-gillinghams-departing-winger-247815/
  11. I think the end of next season might be when they look to address the keeper situation. I just don't think the budget stretches enough to replace FF or Macca. Might be a gap for a cheaper 3rd choice with question marks over Gunn/Lewis.
  12. Annual link bingo: - Scottish wonder kid ✅ - Barcelona player ✅ (I believe he was linked in January) http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-asked-barcelona-players-situation-first-approach-made-summer-transfer-likely/
  13. Don't disagree. Maybe Ralph doesn't think we can improve on the players with the budget we have.
  14. Think he’s out of contract, too. MLG will update us if he’s not.
  15. #AgentLong did exactly what was hoped.
  16. From The Athletic: Walcott didn’t think twice about cutting £150,000-a-week Everton wages in half to join Southampton Such was Theo Walcott’s desire to make his move to Southampton permanent, he has agreed to a 50 per cent pay cut on his Everton wages. The former Arsenal forward joined Southampton on loan at the start of last season and will sign a two-year deal once his contract at Goodison Park expires next month. Southampton split the 32-year-old’s wages — understood to be in the region of £150,000 per week — with Everton during his loan spell, so they will continue to pay the same amount but will now take on 100 per cent of his salary. Walcott didn’t think twice about the pay cut and declined offers from Major League Soccer to stay and try to help establish Southampton as a top-half team while also helping the younger players coming through the academy. Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl was taken aback by the forward’s professionalism and was also eager for him to join permanently. Walcott’s decision to return to the club he left for Arsenal as a teenager in 2006 was also influenced by those closest to him, with his wife wanting to return to Southampton and settle as a family. He believes in what Hasenhuttl and chief executive Martin Semmens are trying to create at St Mary’s, and was desperate to help them realise their vision.

  18. My thing with Minamino was always to give him the benefit of the doubt. - He wasn't match fit. - Wasn't confident. - Joined us when we were pretty terrible. A couple of lovely goals showed a talent, but haven't seen much else from him. Maybe a pre-season behind him might help, but I'm not sure.
  19. Truth be told, he's got a year left on his deal, he probably has suitors & we need the money.

  21. Can't see it, but Maitland-Niles?
  22. Danjuma must be worth more than Brooks at this point?
  23. Have to get an 1 extra fullback in on top of that.
  24. Re: positions to target in the transfer market: “Fullbacks, wingers & other positions” said Ralph in presser. “No.6” not as urgent.
