I think there's something to be said for bringing in players that he can find & will actually finish off chances he creates.

How did Hughes get on with Shaqiri at the end of his Stoke tenure? Curious if they had a falling out at all?
I can remember seeing analysis of Shaqiri just walking around the pitch during matches.
Last season was so weird. Both of those scenarios were bizarre. We did what seemed like a 2 week season de-brief & then kept releasing stuff through the Telegraph saying things like: "The club haven't ruled out keeping Puel" even though we knew he was going to go.
It was so strange.
I believe Stoke run a similar set-up to us. There was talk that Hughes really pushed for Wimmer from Spurs as well as Berahino.
But, no, we don't know the truth of that either.
