Even though neither player was used much (if at all), you could sign one creative player to basically take both Juanmi & Gaston's place in the squad.

I suppose it's difficult to balance. I can't remember what we spent in that 1st season, but it was was somewhere in the region of 70m / 80m replacing all those players wasn't it? I guess we'll never know whether he was right/wrong to not give the younger players like Gallagher/Hesketh/Reed more of a chance, but in his defence, not playing them didn't work out too badly for him.

I watched this video with Jim Lucas interviewing Les Reed again recently. It's from nearly 2 years ago to the day (10 Jun 2014) This was from in-between Poch leaving & Koeman arriving. It's quite topical as it puts into focus much of exactly what's going on now: Losing a coach, finding preferred candidates, player recruitment, how they find their preferred candidate etc. Worth a re-watch if you have the time.

I still expect him to go. http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14541926.Why_Saints_will_take_their_time_replacing_Ronald_Koeman/?ref=rss -
He's been mentioned around these parts before. Even prior to Ron leaving. I did some reading up on him - He plays similar to Leicester. Organised defence, tough to break down then counter-attack with quality.

Yeah, then it's just like Paul Mitchell & Spurs. Didn't he get offered to triple his wages?
-
Simon Peach @SimonPeach Looks like Unai Emery will not be heading to the Premier League - I'm told a move to PSG is close

More on that: CITY CLOSE ON AUBAMEYANG Sky sources: Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund in advanced negotiations for the transfer of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang. According to Sky sources, City are also interested in Everton defender John Stones and Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte as they look to bring up to five first team players to the Etihad this summer. ------- SOURCES: BAILLY PASSES MEDICAL "Whatever City can do..." Sky sources understand Eric Bailly has completed his medical ahead of a move to Manchester United. The Villarreal defender would become Jose Mourinho's first Manchester United signing for a fee in the region of £30m.

Just thinking out loud - Didn't Bournemouth cover more distance than any other team last season?
-
He is online. (or she)
-
Of course, depending who you believe, we may have been planning for this for months.
-
Swings & roundabouts isn't it. Newcastle are historically a bigger club than Leicester - But right this moment, who's the better team?
-
It can't really be Giggs or Neville as (pre-Koeman appointment) Les Reed was saying the black-box collates data based on styles of play of coaches all over the world to focus on patters on play etc. Giggs / Neville wouldn't have acquired enough games to even show up on the radar.

Jeremy Wilson @JWTelegraph Ronald Koeman talks still expected to go on for a few days but he does have permission from Southampton to speak with Everton ^ Well that shouldn't take too long!
-
This board is being infiltrated by tin-pot fans, drunk with power.
-
Well I assume we'll start talking to more than person for a start. I'd imagine a couple of weeks at least. But who knows! Many of the candidates are likely not with clubs which should speed things up.
-
Probably assisted both

So there I was, a little while ago, watching the highlights from the players awards thinking to myself: "At least it won't be like that year when Poch left soon after these awards"
-
I think these thing's always take a fair bit of time.
