  1. Game against us I think will define it. I kinda always thought they'd have enough. But if we go above them -put them in the bottom 3, the owners wobble and sack Moyes... They do have Manu U (H) Chelsea (A) Arsenal (A) and Man C (H) as 4 of last 8 They are the kind of mad club that mad stuff happens to.
  2. WBA next 2 - Burnley (H) and Swansea (H)
  3. Yep, I hate looking at the table but Palace have BOU , BRI , WAT, LEI, STO and WBA as their last 6. It's conceivable they could get 18 pts from those. Hudd have BRI, WAT, CHE, EVE, MANC and ARS I reckon only 6 or 7 pts max from those. They've had 2 homes: SWA and CPAL - they'd have looked at 6 pts - they look like only getting 1. Hopefully STO now cannot win with 10 men.
  4. I kinda want Palace to beat Hudd in a 'lose the battle, win the war' kinda way, even though we will plunge into the bottom 3 and have 2 weeks to do nothing about it. Palace have the easier run in. Zaha is back early and the have a banker home to WBA on the last day. That's 3 pts to their total already. And they have mid table teams like WAT and BOU. I reckon we'd have to win 3 of our last 8 to even have a chance to finish above them. Hudd have a bit of fight about them but they are awful. And I still think their manager is naive. And their last 4 che (a) EVE (H) man c (a) and ARS (H) is pretty nasty.
  5. I'd been thinking that for months cos their run-in is truly horrific. But that Arsenal win changed it all for them. They've still got a couple of winnable games (I think Home to WBA is one of them) and will surely get to 40pts.
  6. Slightly OT - but I'm really worried about them cracking down on the dodgy streams this season - I've not missed a second of the last 5 seasons and I couldn't go back to listening to Merrington on the radio. Apparently they now got powers to take down entire domains showing any live PL and not just individual links. I remember the Stoke game was a nightmare on the last day, I didn't get anything working until well after half time and I later found out they had an injunction for the last 2 months. It was almost like they were using the last day as a test to try and shut down as much as they could. I was at Boro and Ars and Man U I watched on Sky so It kinda made sense.
  7. I'd have thought it would be on one of the Spanish channels since Sevilla are a relativly big draw there. Who did we play last year or year before? Athletic Bilbao or Espanyol or someone? That was on - I watched it on Canal+ Sport or something...
  8. It's cos of the laws regarding Saturday 3 O'Clock KOs - you are literally not allowed to show any live content at 3 O Clock on a Saturday.
  9. Thats all the VHS I've got - I forgot about that Saints v Devils one. It's got the FA Cup replay we won on pens in 92 on I'll email you al and you can tell me what you want me to do DVDs of.
  10. This stumped me as well with my DVD recorder. The 88/89 (we are wearing the Denmark Hummel shirt) is fine and copyable. The 89/90 and 90/91 VHS on CBS Fox Home Video (we are wearing stripes with the big DRAPER) must have that Macrovision copy protection on. There are ways around it - but I've never really looked into it.
  11. The 79 League Cup Final and 92 ZDS Final both have official VHS The 79 League Cup is The Video Collection VC2064 50 mins highlights The 92 ZDS is Video Gems R1496 (full game - same as Sky but not as much Prematch) - I got into a furious bidding war on ebay with someone called 'Mr Tricky Tree' and ended up paying £65 for that about 10 years ago - I didn't realise that Tricky Tree is another nickname for Forest and that badge of theirs. I've also got Norwich 4 Saints 5 from 1994 - It's 'The Match' VSI Visionsport International NCSO94 55mins highlights. I've pretty much got everything VHS and a DVD recorder so I can do copies. The Ruddock pen v Newcastle I reckon I can do it. But I'd need to edit out the footage from the entire digital copy I've done of that 88/89 Season review VHS. I'll get on it.
  12. Assuming its home games - then yes. The sales criteria goes to Memebrs +5 Saturday 11th February (9am) – Official Members who have purchased AT LEAST FIVE home fixtures from the 2016/17 season.
  13. Member +5 Homes looks to be good enough. If you're not a member pay the £20(?) fee and you should be ok.
  14. Do we know if any players chucked theirs in the crowd at Full Time? Or anyone know who won the competitions? I guess there's the slim chance of getting Bournemouth in the FA cup and we might need it again. I do collect - but I'm not super hardcore like that matchworn dude - but if the price was reasonable enough I'd be in for one. Probably will have to wait till the end of the season when they will likely auction them for Saints Foundation and such like...
  15. They've missed a trick here by not doing a Yellow & Blue. Then in the unlikely event of us getting to the EFL Final (very probably against Man U) they could have elected to wear it and the Club Shop could have sold 20,000 easily.
  16. I prefer the old style football too. From the Echo article: "Since it was created there has only been a minor alteration in the 1990s, when a football at the top was updated." But when you think about it - when was the last time you saw a football with those black hexagonal panels? A penny floater on the beach. RIP Rolland - and Saints - don't ever change our badge otherwise I'll have to throw away my duvet covers.
  17. I've got a Sony Hard Drive Recorder and the 88/89 VHS doesn't scramble the picture. I can do a DVD of it. The 89/90 and 90/91 ones are protected though. The Paul Davis incident isn't on though - it just mentions it before showing the goals. The Ruddock pen is on. I met him in a pub in Newcastle in 2003 and asked him about it. Based on my accent he assumed I was a Newcastle fan so he said "Oh yeah, sent you ****s down, kept us ****s up" I then pulled out my Saints wallet and told him it was one of the best days of my life (it's still up there) and he laughed and bought me a drink.
  18. Really bad draw. I'd imagine we'll still make changes and Arsenal's team will probably just be too strong. One of my earliest Saints memories is the 87 Semi against Liverpool and it seems like a curse that we'll never get to a LC Semi again. Even when we got a League 1 side, we still messed it up.
  19. Pot 2 is pretty boring for me. Only Roma and Steaua I'd be determined to go. Maybe Fenerbache. Pot 4 only Nice and Sassuolo I'd not be bothered about going. Dream group: Inter, Steaua, Astana Boring Group: Plzen, Salzburg, Sassuolo Airmiles group: Zenit, Fenerbache, Astana Closest group: Anderlecht, Alkmarr, Dundalk
  20. Ah yeah, forgot that Young Boys started from a higher coeff. No chance of Swiss teams for me as BSC and FCZ Are going in same pot as Saints.
  21. Qabala thru with 10 men against Maribor + Astana is pot 3 confirmed in my book. Personally need one more to get Young Boys up to pot 2. Good night for me 1Kazak and 2 Azerbaijani teams thru to Pot 4 for some crazy away trips.
  22. Now one goal at Maribor from disaster. Maribor 1-0 Qabala (1-3) 1st leg 81mins Slavia 3-2 SonderskE Hajuk Split 2-1 Macabi Tel Aviv would go to ET as it stands
  23. BATE 1-1 Astana. BATE need 3
  24. BATE 1-0 Astana so our Pot 3 and my trip to Kazakhstan looking dodgy. However SonderskE 2-1 up in Sparta Prague who need 2 now - so that is one we need.
  25. Anyone know what Ankara (Osmanilspor) is like? Plenty of people go to Turkey on cheap hols but since Istanbul is the bigger city, I wonder what anyone's motivation would be to go to Ankara. 4-0 Rostov Ajax have been a disgrace.
