  1. Disagree football clubs raise and fall on these kind of decisions if you make a change you need to be damn sure you are making the right change. There was nothing in MoPes CV to suggest he was an upgrade and looks increasingly likely he isn't.
  2. I'd be worried if our defence couldn't keep out a 34 year old Glenn ****ing Murray
  3. until the final ball were we loft a long floaty cross to no one in particular....maybe the wind will do us a favour and actually blow the crossed ball to someone in a saints shirt.
  4. Who ever said last season wasn't worse than the season before? (though people seemed to have airbrushed the dire middle of Koeman's last season from their minds) Most sensible people could at least see why there were differences between what Koeman had to work with and what Puel had to work with. Puel had to get by without three players who had contributed to much to Koeman's success, European group stages, our worst transfer window in years and some **** injuries to players in that context a drop off from the previous season was inevitable (and probably would still have happened even if we'd kept Koeman) and yet he still finished 8th, managed a cup final and brought in some academy boys into the team. By contrast MoPe has had a full pre-season, lost no big name players in the summer, got a couple of decent (more than decent in Lemina's case) signings in to strengthen the squad and has no European football, or cup football, to contended with and has made us look like a worse team than last season we look no better in attack and are now a mess defensively. For me getting rid of Puel was only the right decision if we replaced him with a manager who was going to do a better job. It's still early days but the current evidence would suggest that we haven't replaced Puel with someone better.
  5. of course its relevant how do you judge any season in football if you are not comparing it to the previous one. If a club get rid of a manager it is surely to replace him with someone better if not what is the ****ing point?
  6. yeah but that was a relief because cup finals are no big deal and really easy to get a team into hence the dozens and dozens of cup finals saints fans have had the joy of attending.
  7. So what's changed? We've had one win at home this season and we needed the refs help to beat 10 man Wham. Last season at least we were a bit better on the road this season even away we are **** only managing to edge a tight games against bottom of the table Palace. We've actually got worse this season despite having no Europe and bringing in the quality of Lemenia and getting VVD back from injury.
  8. The decision was only right if we replaced him with better.... evidence so far is suggesting that isn't the case.
  9. No this is worse than Puel the tail end of last season was **** but Puel's team at least looked organised and played some good stuff at times last season. This season we haven't even had that.
  10. just keeps getting better for poor old Everton Everton set to face Uefa disciplinary action after brawl in Lyon defeat https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/everton-set-to-face-uefa-disciplinary-action-after-brawl-in-lyon-defeat/ar-AAtKhoU?li=AA572I&ocid=spartandhp
  11. If this stays as it is Everton are going to have 1pt from 3 games in Europe ...
  12. Making it one more decent performance than we've seen under MoPe so far. Sacking Puel wasn't an issue if we had someone better lined up but so far it looks suspiciously like we've got rid of Coca and replaced him with Krusty...
  13. Possibly the last decent game Forster had was West Brom away last season.
  14. well last season wasn't 0-0.... [video=youtube;e5qzJGBSV-E]
  15. Is exactly the point they both like to take credit for that one depending on who telling the story because Poch was a success that shows them in a good light. A lot of people like to credit Big Nic for stuff ,though, I have my doubts a Swiss banker, with no previous experience in football, actually had much idea what made a good manager as opposed Reed who had experience in football and helped the FA write its coaching manual. Having said that Nicky was obviously the one who sold Poch the dream of saints as some sort of CL super power.
  16. As pointed out earlier who allegedly spotted Poch comes down to who is telling the story both uncle Les and Nik-nak have claimed the glory in their re-telling's of the story to show their scouting poweress both are far less keen to take the glory for spotting Gaston Ramierz, Emmanuel Mayuka and Tadanari Lee however ...
  17. To be fair the only way Sunderland could have made that game easier was to not turn up they were just gifting us goals that day.
  18. Can't be any worse than Lloyd James and Fish Mills. Also our promotions in the lower leagues were hardly built on a team of academy boys ( Lallana and Oxo aside) mostly it came from buying better players than most of the sides around us especially when it came to strikers in form like Lambert, Barnard and Sharpe.
  19. Les seems to be taking the credit for spotting Poch here. https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/revealed-how-scouting-philippe-coutinho-paved-the-way-for-mauricio-pochettinos-arrival-at-tottenham-a3240441.html I imagine Reed, nic-nak and Mitchell where all involved. As the years pass and they relate the story they tend to airbrush the others out.
  20. Sam Allardyce, the most British man to ever glug chardonnay from a Peroni pint glass, is reportedly interested in taking over the US national football team. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/sam-allardyce-is-reportedly-on-the-verge-of-an-unlikely-career-move/ar-AAtFCLQ?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartandhp
  21. The whole city is deluded Changes to the road layout into Portsmouth will help create an "almost New York-type" skyline, the city council has claimed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-41663229
  22. Interesting looking at who Leicester are being linked with now they are looking for a manager. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-next-manager-odds-643056
  23. Weren't the main culprits of unhappiness allegedly Bertrand, Long, Redmond and VVD? Good to see that they have upped their game now they got what they wanted.
  24. Yet weirdly we are apparently selling out SMS every game this season despite the football on show being worse than last season.
