I said the same when MoPe came in and people said he was Poch's mini -me that I wasn't sure we had the personel for a high press game.

Not seeing much difference from last season so far where is this 100% high press game the new manager was supposed to be bringing in? Nice passing around at the back no real threat upfront so far.

So for saints to keep their promise to VVD they basically need to force him to see out his full contract and keep their best player.....happy days.

That won't happen though we will look abroad for cheap and hope they work out signings or ones for the future. They certainly need to be better than last years signings though which were in general pretty poor.

I think Leicester proved by selling Kante that they very much weren't bigger than one individual.. It's not selling VVD that is the issue we've sold good players and survived (even prospered) it's selling him to a club that basically admitted tapping him up that's the issue. By selling him to Liverpool the club is basically giving into a players blackmail and admitting we are happy to have our players tapped up.

If this day was obviously coming the club have could saved a whole load of drama and just sold him what was the point of the charade of the last few weeks just to end up in the same place? I expected him to be sold just not to ****ing Liverpool.

It's not leaving that is the issue most of us expected that. It's the complaining about the tapping up and then selling him him to the club that tapped him up that is the issue the club have made themselves look ridiculous by going through this whole charade. Sell him to someone else for 60 million plus and it's the same old same old no drama. It's selling him to Liverpool that's the problem not the act of selling him.

That would be ****ing ridiculous and basically just green light teams to tap up our players (we might complain but we will let you have them anyway) we'd be made to look like right dicks. It Also basically green lights players to go on strike if they don't get their way. There is literally no PR the club could use that would make them look anything less than stupid if they do this.

Being a bit disingenuous there the complaints about high stuff turnover has always been about players leaving I reckon you'd have to search pretty hard to find fans complaining about the club signing new players. No one has ever asked for a quiet window only that we make more effort to hold on to the quality players we already had.

Pretty sure he scored one against WBA two seasons ago but yeah a lot is made of his set pieces when in reality the don't actually produce much. Lambert was far more productive at free kicks.

He should be bloody ashamed if he can't with the squad he has...
