If you were an interested club and a player you were watching started playing poorly or deliberately scoring own goals for a season do you think you would still be interested come next summer? From the players point of view if he plays badly he gets dropped and a season not playing is hardly good for his future career.

How does a take over help with FFP what we need is greater commercial income. TBF though we aren't going to be the only club to struggle to keep up in the PL with the way things are going about 2/3rds of the PL will be in the same boat. In reality most people won't be building squads to compete with the top 6 just but building squads to be better than three other clubs.

I'm not saying he is coming here but I very much doubt Barkley is going to end up at a big club my guess is it will end up being WHU out of desperation.

What's your point? That we should have binned off Gallagher and brought Billy Sharp back to saints? should we get Lambert and Barnard back to because they've both scored more goals in the lower leagues than Sam Gallagher.....

Are they pressing that much? from the pre-season games I've been to it hasn't been overly pressing. The problem we have is Long who is mobile enough to press but has trouble finishing his breakfast and Austin who isn't that mobile but is a better goal scorer if I had to pick one of them to play I'd pick Austin. On top of that Gallagher is pretty much an unknown quantity at the moment but hopefully we'll get a chance to see what he's about this season. The quality player with it all the attributes is Gabbi so lets hope he stays fit.

I would have said that wasn't happening very often most of our counter attacks seemed to stall because of a lack of support and like last season a lot of our crosses where ending up in a opposition area full of defenders and to few saints players.

I'm sure there is an element of that but at the same time plenty of saints fans can see there were weaknesses in the squad, last season, that we hoped would be addressed before the new season started. Not many fans are calling for new signings at any cost in any position.

Long, Gallagher and Gabbi are all capable of playing wide as part of a three (not saying they are the best options mind) Austin has to be played through the middle and nowhere else so it is quite possible to have more than one of them playing in any given game if MoPe wants. Last season we heard that players were upset by constant rotation wouldn't be surprised if this season we hear of players upset because of a lack of game time..

I thought he looked decent in his short appearance today one oops moment when he mis-controlled a ball but generally solid obviously he'd be tested a lot more in a proper competitive game..

As I said there was some pressing but it is sporadic and not as a unit. Sevilla pressed much better than us. The second goal was also helped as Sevilla were down to 10 men as one player was getting treatment off pitch.

Well having been to the last two friendly games I think the football is going to much the same as last season. I thought we were going to be a more pressing side under MoPe but apart from little spells we aren't really doing that ( Sevilla on the other hand pressed very well as a unit especially against our back 4). If the last couple of games are anything to go by it looks like we are going to sit deep and try and play on the counter quite a bit. When we do go more proactive in attack it is very similar to last season in that we mainly aim to get it out wide and cross in the box though like last season we aren't, as yet, getting enough bodies in the box. Positives from today were Cedric, Romeu, Gabbi and Stephens who all looked pretty sharp. I thought the CB looked decent enough in his cameo.
