Other Premier League Transfers - Deadline Day

If Gazza had any future here he would of made some impact by now the buying of Mcarthy showed how much the club rated Gazza. I'd be quite happy if we can flog of a bit more of the dead wood in the squad to Clasie, Long, Gardos, Targett, Taylor, Forster and JWP I wouldn't shed a tear to see the back of any of them if they were replaced with better. -
I'm pretty sure Charlie was rightly impressed when we sold Mane early last summer...
-
Which is just the usual crap players and their agents spout to justify moves, along with Europe, winning things and playing for a particular manger when in truth they normally just want to go were they (and more importantly their agent) can get the most dosh. We could have just signed Neymar and VVD wouldn't give a flying **** because he will pocket a loyalty bonus, a signing on fee and a higher weekly wage by going to Liverpool.
-
The cost isn't an issue for me as long as they are good and fill the weaknesses in the squad. We need better players in midfield for example if they only cost 10million happy days.
-
We won't sell to Liverpool and I'm sure if Chelsea comes calling, given the situation he has created, he would quickly overcome his desperate desire to play for Klopp.
-
If it's Chelsea or City VVD goes to I could suck it up. But it needs to be done quick so we can reinvest the cash in the squad.

See these are the sort of player sales I could live with. -
If we are going all fantasy football 25 million plus Kante and Hazard.
-
If MoPe had done any homework on us before agreeing to join he shouldn't have been under any illusions on the state of the squad or our best players trying to leave every summer. As for signings we can only speculate what he was offered when he joined and weather he is getting what he thought he was going to get.

This The club rightly royally ****ed up last seasons transfer windows (Gabbi aside) and left us with a squad with several glaring issues and packed full of average players and it showed last season. Given that it's not surprising some of us are a little annoyed we've made so little effort to strengthen the team so far. No one was expecting expensive big name signings but some quality players bought in early for a full pre-season and ready to compete on the opening day of the season would have been very welcome.
-
you mean for the whole season surely...
-
I enjoyed Liverpool and Everton at home just for the looks on the scouse ****s faces..
-
Agree a lot of people accused Puel of being bloody minded last season with regards to playing style but maybe is was more pragmatism based on the quality of player he had work with. Still very early days but so far there doesn't seem to be much difference in style between Puel and MoPe we are pressing a bit more, in patches, but last night it was as individuals rather than as a team and all it achieved was to leave gaps that the opposition could exploit. Attacking wise we still seem to be trying to get it out wide and throw crosses into the box but like last season there is usual only one or two saints players in the box surrounded by opposition defenders.
-
If last night was anything to go buy it doesn't look like they've been practising pressing as a unit at all.
-
I'm just imagining Les telling VVD "This is your final warning behave or you're sacked"...
-
So we publicly tell everyone that he is for sale, has no future here and is causing a problem in the squad and then expect clubs to pay our full asking price....right. thank **** you're not in charge of the club.
-
It will be interesting to see where Barkley ends up he clearly feels he is better than Everton but I'm struggling to see which of the top six clubs would have any interest in signing him.
-
Not sure how much time MoPe or some of the players will get from the fan base this season unless we get off to a storming start. There were was booing at the full time whistle at last night's game and Forster was getting jeered by the home fans in the second half for everything. I could see it being very toxic at home games this season as soon as we have any sort of wobble.
-
The first part of your post was about the right backs though right? I think our full backs are the only part of the squad I'm not concerned about (as long as McQueen starts above Targett)
-
Not really in the weird world of transfers fees crap players can go for high fees and good ones can be bargains. We could all list lots of players who seem over priced or under priced.
-
I kind of agree with you but for all the obvious problems in the squad you are worried about the right back position. Really?
-
It's not just the defence the midfield in front of the defence is so light weight and easy to bypass it gives no protection to the back line at all.
-
Yes the result is unimportant but with one pre season game left you would expect to see encouraging signs in the performance and start to get a feeling for the new managers style. So far it would seem the style and performances aren't really any different from last season.
