  1. You are kidding people usual jump on anything negative, about the club, around here with barely disguised glee.....apart from Always and MLG.
  2. So he is half on strike when it suits him?
  3. I'm still of the opinion we won't sell to Liverpool the club would be made to look like absolute mugs and basically send out a signal that brazenly tapping up our players was acceptable. Now if City, Man utd or Chelsea come in with 70 million doing things the accepted way the club will no doubt bite their hand off.
  4. Manchester City will end their interest in Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand once they complete the signing of Real Madrid defender Danilo, according to reports https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAotOfM?m=en-gb
  5. Sadly this seems true the massive inflation in player prices isn't doing our prefered method of recruitment any favours it's much harder to buy low, improve and sell high when everyone is just selling high...
  6. Hopefully she read the same article that Lard posted up....
  7. Yes things changed the act of meeting Klopp without permission scuppered any chance of a deal with Liverpool. I don't doubt he is sulking right now Lovern did it, Lallana did it, Morgan did it, Vic did it and probably a few others to. Once he realizes we won't sell him he will knuckle down and get on with it he isn't going to sulk all season.
  8. I'm sure Liverpool fans will agree that Coutinho should be allowed to leave now a big club have come in for him... Liverpool have told Barcelona that they are wasting their time trying to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer. The La Liga outfit have stepped up their interest in the Brazil international by tabling an opening bid of 80million Euros (£72million). http://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/premier-league/liverpool-reject-barcelona-coutinho-bid-and-tell-catalans-youre-wasting-your-time/ar-AAowLL1?li=AA572I&ocid=spartandhp
  9. I'm not even sure that works now Liverpool demanding 30 million for Sakho a player they clearly don't want, or man city seemingly unable to get rid of Joe Hart except as a loan seems to be the new way forward.
  10. Almost as many times as Puel and Bertrand were locked in a death grip, before being separated, on the training ground last season.
  11. Will the prices be better later in the window? if anything the closer to deadline day the higher the prices as clubs will be less inclined to sell with replacements being hard to get late in the window. Also the more crazy deals done will just convince other clubs to push up their asking prices to get a piece of the bonkers transfer fees pie.
  12. Thought he was poor last season bar a couple of games. He doesn't command the box, barely leaves the goal line and doesn't organise his defenders but makes the odd good save. Still maybe a new contract will inspire him to play better....
  13. Quite simply it is better to get people in and training with the squad as early as possible in pre season. Bringing people in the last week of the transfer window after the season has started in is less than ideal in terms of getting new players up to speed. The main argument for and against signings seems to come down to how good people think the squad is. Quite a few posters are of the opinion are squad is already good enough and all that was needed is a change of manger if that's the case then new signings aren't really an issue. On the other hand if , like I do, you think last seasons performances were bought about by serious deficiencies in parts of the squad then new signings seem like a must if we want to improve on last season.
  14. Some how I don't find this article reassuring. Normally when saints say they are "hopeful" it's not a good sign. http://www.bing.com/cr?IG=6F9FA7E092484D9284D7C4140C1FE27C&CID=14C9CD2AA0E968D92C5EC7E9A1286924&rd=1&h=MQUalpDiWTWT27qSR5l0g6MBsWzbSp-Jdk3XBZDYzjY&v=1&r=http%3a%2f%2fwww.dailyecho.co.uk%2fsport%2f15415757.Saints_stand_firm_on_van_Dijk%2f&p=DevEx,5037.1
  15. Clasie JWP Targett Taylor Bring in two quality midfielders
  16. A bit ****ed to be honest. If we are holding on to our best players we should be using the opportunity that affords, by not having to find replacements, to strengthen our weak areas like GK and central midfield while we can.
  17. It's amazing how quickly us football fans have fallen into line with the new transfer prices a few years ago a 50 million pound player was rare as hens teeth now it seems to becoming the excepted price for anyone considered half decent. Not sure how long these ridiculous player prices are going to be sustainable for.
  18. Or we aren't really signing anyone this summer....
  19. Carrying on were we left off last season then not scoring..
  20. Yeah you have to make allowance for pre-season and the random nature of the teams put out in these sort of games I just wondered if their was a notable step up in the pressing style over Koeman and Puel.
  21. So for those actually watching are we getting the 100% high press game people are expecting from Mope?
  22. not according to the article The Premier League confirmed it had “considered” the date change allegation as part of its tapping-up investigation, which it said was at an end.
