  1. Who says scousers have no class.....
  2. That was my take on it but then Bournemouth bid for him in the window. If VVD goes to Chelsea in the summer maybe we can reach an agreement?
  3. Think we should have a go for Nathan Ake not sure if he is available or not but reckon he'd be a good fit for saints.
  4. Well technically its not a buy ?. But yes of courses its panic rather that than the club do nothing at all.
  5. 'He tore me a new one': Mouez Hassen gives insight into Southampton's Claude Puel http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/02/08/do-he-tore-into-me-mouez-hassen-gives-insight-into-southamptons/
  6. and? They IMO had no intention of replacing Fonte in Jan. That's not to say the club didn't have an idea of who they want to replace him only that they didn't think they could or (perhaps needed to) replace him in Jan instead of the summer. With Gardos coming back to provided cover my bet is the club planned to wait until the summer to bring in Fonte's replacement in When VVD got injured the whole situation changed and the had 10 days to get in a replacement in. The CBs we were linked with where short term loans which pretty much says to me they weren't looking to bring in Fonte's replacement in Jan other wise they would have had someone lined up. Like I said the club gambled and got it wrong and they ****ed up.
  7. The club gambled hindsight shows it to be a poor gamble but had VVD stayed fit with Gardos coming back they'd have got away with it in all likely hood. I doubt the club thought they could buy a decent replacement for Fonte in Jan and figured Yoshida could step up and Gardos and Stephens could play back up. Then Vardy does for VVD quite late in the window and they went into panic mode and ****ed up a replacement. Its a cock up no doubt (just like the Toby to spurs one was) and the club deserve some flak but even the best run organizations ****up sometimes.
  8. Its pretty clear that the club ****ed up in transfer window with regards to a CB but lets be honest, with Gardos coming back to fitness, if VVD hadn't been badly injured they'd have got away with. OK its not perfect (by a long way) but at least they are trying to recover the situation so I'm not really sure why people are getting upset about this player signing (sure it smacks of desperation because it is) but would people rather the club did nothing? **** happens even in the best run organizations and the club can rightly take some flak for dropping the ball but I'm not going to criticize them for trying to put it right even if the solution isn't great.
  9. Were only signing this guy because of the injury to VVD my bet is that if VVD had stayed fit we would have looked to get through the rest of the season with Stephens and Gardos as back up to VVD and Yoshida and replaced Fonte in the summer when more players were available. Always a gamble which has thanks to Vardy come out looking like a bad bet.
  10. Honestly don't think we're bad enough to get relegated even if we do I find myself unbothered PL isn't all that anyway. If we end up back in league one I can enjoy us being the ones buying players instead of selling them ? Plus I've always maintained I'd take finishing 17th if we won an actual trophy and I stick by that win the the final and the rest of the season is pretty much an irrelevance for me. If we don't win the cup at least a relegation dogfight would give the rest of the season some interest....
  11. If you want to be really gloaty buy both sets of tickets...
  12. God I forgot about him Newcastle away wasn't it? total crap after that. Funnily enough someone made a youtube video of his skills and goals in a saints shirt, complete with crap dance music, that features 3 minutes of two goals and practical no skills
  13. sit at the wrong end and bait the man u fans....
  14. mmmmm well the fans will probably like him for showing some "pashun mush" Leeds manager Garry Monk accused Huddersfield counterpart David Wagner of lacking "class, humility and respect" after both were sent off during the Terriers' 2-1 win. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38874257
  15. One of my favourite saints games the celebrations when those goals went in was epic.
  16. he still has time to get another you watch 90+4 in the cup final Martina to score the winner....
  17. it was an amazing goal shame he was such a tit
  18. Wayne Thomas only scored one for saints absolute worldie the one he did score though
  19. Don't remember it but you could be right.
  20. Well remembered
  21. Not sure that's quite right we only play with one DM now so Hoj hasn't been asked to play the Morgan role this season. Hoj is clearly meant to be a younger version of Davis to my eyes. I know Koeman tried both Clasie and JWP as DMs last season but neither of them are imo proper DMs. I think Romeu needs a lot of credit to. He is trying to do a job that for the last few seasons has been filled by two holding DMs and I think he has done a decent job of it.
  22. yeah what. I thought we must have signed someone on a free or something.....
  23. Ok trying to avoid the general Meh of our current season and looking at something a little more light hearted I was thinking about players who came to saints and managed one moment of brilliance before fading away into obscurity. My first thought was Tadanari Lee an absolute belter of a first goal which was literally the high point (pretty much the only point to be fair) of his saints career https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZKlAbyEXiY I'm sure there must be others.
