It's just come at the wrong time our last few poor results not to mention Liverpool's annoyingly good form just make it hard to be optimistic. It also feels like everyone has decided our whole season now rests on this semi-final which just adds more pressure.

So man U have basically made back pretty much all the money they paid for him despite seemingly making him a worse player than when joined them...fair play.

Seems an odd thing to do if his agent hadn't got him a new deal elsewhere or set up and ready to go or did he already have a move lined up and saints put the skids on it by demanding more than another club were willing to pay...

I'm quiet surprised I figure the transfer request was because Fonte and his agent already had a deal sorted out I expected the news he had handed in a transfer request to be followed by a very public bid by another club within hours.

I guess big Sam feels he owes him one after the England fiasco...

Not really bar a few of our players (VVD, Romeu, Bertrand and Forster) their isn't much difference ability wise with the rest of the squad they are all capable of playing decently. Tadic or Boufal, Long or Jrod, Fonte or Yoshida and all the CM are much of a muchness who you can argue cases for inclusion or exclusion. We don't have 11 stand out first teamers.

The lack of a decent attacking midfielder has been an issue for several seasons. Steven Davis has averaged just over two goals a season in five seasons. JWP has averaged just less than one goal a season over six seasons. Clasie has managed one goal in two seasons that's with different mangers not sure why any one would expect Puel to turn them into attacking goal threats over a few months were other managers haven't. Puel's hardly to blame for Austin getting a season ending injury either.

err duh yeah. Football clubs, footballers, every company trying to sell you something, politicians, your boss, your wife just about every ****er on the planet is spinning you line believe any of it at your own risk....

Really? What would fans of other clubs do then to stop their club doing what it likes. There are loads of clubs in a far worse state than us who's fans keep turning up week in week out and putting up with it. Even fans of teams horribly mismanaged like Leeds and Pompey still have fans turn up and support their club. Why do you think saints fans are any different? Our place is currently being better than 95% of the professional football clubs in England how awful.
