Wouldn't be a big money transfer if they were out of contract so I'm guessing a pre window agreement.
-
Managers aren't covered by FFP are they?
-
So Fonte is off to Everton? Along with Depay and Morgan...
-
Why do people think Everton play amazing wages their top earner is on 80k a week is that much better than saints?
-
Have man u actually finished paying us for Morgan? Im assuming it wasn't 25 million up front.
-
Really? They need DMs even less than we do 2 seasons ago Morgan would have been a shoe in at spurs now they really don't need him.
-
Might have been posted before but it was new to me so I figured others might not have seen it. As with everything in the PL there is a big gap between the big six and everyone else. http://www.totalsportek.com/football/premier-league-shirt-sponsorship-deals/
-
We'd have signed someone not as expensive as Bony or Benteke...
-
Players generally want to stay in the PL were the cash is. Other clubs that can play PL sized wages are few and far between. I'm sure any of those players that went to Liverpool would have happily signed for Real or Bayern if the offer was there but it wasn't.
-
Yep they are offering him a 100K a week still 20K less than they will allegedly pay Morgan. Plus how does that investment work under FFP? I was under the impression owners aren't allowed to just fund player sales and wages surely the investment will go on the new ground or clearing debts?
-
Pretty much this. The lad has ability my main frustration is I want him to get into the opposition box more and forces defenders to commit rather than stop on the edge and play the easy ball.
-
This came up before why do people think Everton will pay 120K a week their best paid player is Lukaku on 80K a week. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/pics/pictures/4544/Every-Everton-ace-s-weekly-wages-revealed No one is going to pay Morgan a 120K a week if he wants to get his career back on track he is going to have to take a pay cut.
-
If you are going to do this sort of thing CB. Can you please use the patented Glasgow saint club ranking system so we can all understand where our club stands. Cheers
-
You really think west brom can afford wages like that? Morgan was one of the classiest midfielders to play in a saints shirt in years, imo, a quality player who would improve our squad I can't imagine a time when a better player than what we currently have is "just not what we need".
-
It would be mad if he ended up at west brom he would certainly improve them.
-
Yeah because west brom are going to pay him a 120k a week. He is far better than several of current midfield options as well.
-
I imagine Mane is giving him a little rendition of "Who the **** is laughing now?"....
-
yeah uping Vardy's wages to a 100k a week to get him to stay probably doesn't seem such a good idea with hindsight..
-
It would be a lot easier seeing our best players leave if it was to **** off abroad....
-
This will be when Puel's rotation policy will come into its own hopefully. Most of squad have had decent game time this season and the players are used to the manager mixing things up so hopefully this will work in our favour over the busy period. Other teams will either stick to a knackered best 11 or bring in rusty fringe players that reduce their teams effectiveness.......that's my hope anyway.

Fonte off to Liverpool? ( probably not) http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651530FFE51&tid=1CBF826D3F1F437D888E58E7AEDC73FE&url=http%3a%2f%2fmetro.co.uk%2f2016%2f12%2f20%2fhas-dejan-lovren-just-hinted-that-manchester-united-target-jose-fonte-is-actually-heading-to-liverpool-6334423%2f&c=2328969080080916654&mkt=en-gb

Good if he is a proper goal scoring AM that we've needed for several seasons.
-
Did he play under Puel? I thought he arrived at Nice just as Puel left to come here.

Can't we just embrace the Bournemouth rivalry?
doddisalegend replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
The problem to my mind is we picked the worse team to be rivals with. I ****ing love a Saints v Pompey derby game, there isn't really anything else like it as a saints fan, but these games are rarer then hen's teeth because the blue few are so ****ing useless (I mean they can't even negotiate a couple of early rounds of a cup to get a game against us). What is the ****ing point of a rivalry when you never actually play each other? I find myself rather jealous of the London clubs (not to mention the black country/Birmingham area though they're all in the championship) who seem to be able to have a derby every three weeks to the point that I'd actually be tempted to see Bournemouth as a rival just to get some of that derby game action so many other PL fans seem to get every season....
