From Adam Blackmore... #Saintsfc Exec Director Les Reed says a reconciliation with Adam Lallana is a possibility, despite player wanting to go...quotes follow.... Reed: "We've brought him to this level, and we could feel that perhaps he should give it a little bit longer with us" #saintsfc

So how do people think the appointment of RK will effect the want away players? I noticed a lot of posters in the new manager thread seem to be pinning their hopes on players wanting to stay now RK is here. My main concern is that it seems (from media reports and ITKs admittedly) that some players had made their minds up about leaving before the season had even ended and poch had even left. Even though we have installed a real "name" manager I'm still not sure that's enough to compete with these players desires to play for the big clubs (with all the benefits that brings). On the other hand I think we will have a better chance of attracting decent replacement players with RK in charge. I just hope if the likes of Adam and Luke still want to move on that RK doesn't bear the brunt of the bad feeling that will no doubt come from those players moving on. Thoughts?

Seems our new manager has a sense of humour

Well I'm pretty sure I don't want us to sign anyone from Iran or Nigeria.......well maybe Victor Moses though he has faded badly as the game has gone on.
-
Brave man. I might wait and see who stays and leaves before I make a prediction:)

I hope people weren't relying on Koeman to keep the want aways here. Those players have IMO already made their minds up (probably before the season had ended and poch was even gone) they want to sign for bigger clubs and get paid more. If we can keep them great but I wasn't expecting the arrival of Koeman to change their minds as the reasons they want to leave haven't changed. be a Shame if the new managers start with saints was soured because people expect him to preform miracles with the want away players.

Chuffed:) Don't know what the future holds but I reckon that's a pretty big marker laid down by the club right now that we are still trying to push on. Hopefully people will relax a bit now about the board/owners intentions for the future.

LOL at least Yoshida pulls off rockstar better than Cahill who looks like some ones embarrassing dad

Yes sadly the days of long term managers are pretty much gone (if they ever really existed) people like Wenger and Ferguson are the exceptions rather than the rule. Two seasons is a decent return on managers these days.

After watching that video I thought he was a replacement for Lambert not a CB...
-
In fairness I'm a big Cork fan and felt he would have been a decent squad shout for England in the WC playing alongside Stevie G but I thought Henderson had a good game against Italy and is in the team on merit would rather have Cork in the team than Wilshire if I'm honest.
-
Ah the old favourite if you don't agree with me you know nothing about football line ............
-
Playing for Italy.............
-
Agree. I'm not suggesting Lambert is as good an individual player as Rooney but sometimes the best team isn't made up of the best players. Few times Lambert has played for England he always looks to be making the best choices for the team Rooney always seem to play for himself first and the team second.........at least that's how it looks to me.
-
Except it's about the team not individuals AL has played the position, Rooney played for England, numerous times for saints over the years and would have given Baines far more cover against Darmian than he got from Rooney last night and arguably would have just as effective going forward. And Wilshere was not on the bench all night was he? complete waste of a sub last night.
-
So what's the excuse for playing Rooney and Wiltshire...
-
It was the wrong question for me. I would have had Adam playing in Rooney's spot out wide last night so would have had both Sterling and AL on last night and Rooney somewhere else.
-
Depends I suppose on what people are expecting next season....I feel a lot of people are going take last seasons record finish of 8th as some sort of minimum benchmark for next season anything less will be seen as a failure I suspect. Slightly unfair on the new bloke considering he might have a hell of a re-building job on the 1st team this summer.

Dejan Lovren hands in transfer request

What the same players who brought into the saints in the Champions League dream (allegedly) -
Well clearly if that's the sort of manager you were expecting it's hardly surprising you are underwhelmed.........meanwhile back in the real world

This

He has won some sort of Silverware at 5 out of 7 of the clubs he has managed (with the caveat that a lot of that was in Dutch football) I can't think of any manager we've ever had that has the sort of trophy record.

Cheers. I agree I think Blackmore has a pretty good handle on what goes on at Saints.
