  1. Always thought he just needed games, playing the odd cup game was never going to be enough, KD was playing to well to get replaced the last few seasons.
  2. I haven't had any emails I do normally get a few but nothing for the villa game.
  3. BBC matchday preview MATCH PREVIEW It sounds grim. Bottom of the pile. Pointless after four successive defeats. The latest a 6-1 humiliation at Arsenal. Some Southampton supporters must be wishing they could hit the erase button and start all over again. Mind you, after their remarkable rise over the last two years, Saints were bound to hit the buffers eventually and the early fixture list was cruel pairing them with last season's top three over the opening month. This is no time to panic, a cool head is required and manager Nigel Adkins seems to be making the right noises. After all, some of his team were playing League One football just 18 months ago, others only joined in the summer and a first full week of training for record signing Gaston Ramirez and Maya Yoshida will certainly help them to get their bearings. The goals of Rickie Lambert and quality of Adam Lallana suggest Southampton will cause problems going forward - defence is their chief concern having conceded 14 goals already.
  4. I can only think of two teams at the ends of the M27 given the above critera you must mean Totton AFC
  5. Could of joined Barney at Bournemouth:o
  6. Very true I just find it funny given the needle between the two clubs the last couple of seasons....
  7. Yeah I used for the first time last week and agree it was a bit tedoius....... there seemed to a be lots of odd seats on their own dotted around which seems a bit wasteful.
  8. well if we are so are Brighton http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?40164-Saints-and-Brighton-just-the-same
  9. Well that pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject......
  10. .....according to Dean Hammond:? Hammond, who is on a season-long loan at the Amex, won promotion to the Premier League with Saints last season. He told BBC Sussex: "It's so similar. The depth in the squad we have here is like we had last year at Southampton. "I couldn't really tell the difference to be honest. We play a similar type of football and [brighton boss] Gus Poyet likes to keep possession." full article on the beeb http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/1966133
  11. Mine did shoot up. I take my two kids and we had seats in the chapel last three seasons (which was the family area last season but isn't now resulting in an increase) no free kids ticket becuase you now need two adults and their is only one of me. For a lot of people it wasn't to bad for me it went from 380 a year (which was a very good deal) to more like 600 and something almost double what I paid the season before I couldn't justify it.
  12. Well I had to give up my ST when we moved to the PL as the prices shot up (i'll admit I was getting a good deal in the championship) So would I rather be watching saints playing teams like Leeds and Blackpool live every other week...or listen to saints playing man U or Liverpool on radio solent ...........championship every time for me. Plus I actually like saints winning:)
  13. For his day he was just not sure how many of our old players would cut it now..... PL players all seem faster, fitter and more skillful now. Of course it could just be my swiss cheese memory the last time we were in the PL seems such along time ago now.
  14. Could you imagine the likes of Dodd, Benali or Beasent in the PL now....
  15. I love Rickie Lambert ....really if I was a woman I'd have his babies. Not only is he a great footballer but he really seems to be a genuine nice guy who has worked really hard to get a shot at the big time.....is it to early for Rickie to be a saints legend?
  16. Three things that will send SMS faithful into fits of outrage conceding a goal when we are not winning, not hoofing it out of defence and ..........Guly
  17. I'm trying to make sure she is a good catch for someone if she likes football she'll make a better wife....or not:?
  18. Well I'm not expecting much in the area I'm sitting in....being as I will be sitting in the family end with my six year old daughter. Still sounds like it will be just like last season minus the feel good factor:lol:
  19. yeah that was kind of my point. I think Aaron is a great little player ...I like his story (local boy done good) I just think if you were playing non-league to come to a club that has shot through the divisons like we have it must be hard to adjust. Even non league to league 1 must be a hell of a jump in the sort of players you find yourself playing with and against.
  20. No a sophisticated long ball is called a defense splitting pass..... I'm guessing Derry was being sarky ....at least I hope he was:?
  21. Maybe that's the problem trying to hard to force things and make something spectacular happen rather than just do the simple stuff well? He was like that before it all went wrong last time trying to take on to many players or taking spectacular shots (that then went spectacularly wrong).
  22. It proves that if we ditch Nigel now we can still come second in the PL:p
  23. In fairness it's a big jump from Eastleigh to the PL in three seasons. I suppose it depeands what happens this season if we are relegated players like Aaron might well still have a place at saints if we stay up probably not.
  24. I'll be there first game of the season for me....will be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like this season.
