I think Adam is doing his fairshare of defensive duties this season TBH (at least at home I haven't seen him play away this season yet)

Interesting that people at the game can't agree on Guly's performance. For what it's worth the Solent tatters weren't very impressed with him until De Ridder started warming up when Guly was suddenly every where working his socks off. Any truth to that? Did the threat of being subbed up Gulys game? hence the oppossing views on him?

Surely the long ball/passing out at the back isn't an either/or situation. Ideally I'd like to see a bit of both to keep the opposition guessing. It's surely comes down to Kelvin making the right choice. It seems that Kelvin will persist with the short ball even when it's not on. This reminds of last season after hudders away we dropped the playing out from the back after that mauling and then slowly re-introduced it but balanced it out with long balls too.

Harsh. He can be great on his day scored some great goals for us. It's just he blows hot and cold to much for my liking. If he's having a poor game the whole team suffers.

Interesting piece by Matt Holland in his football league blog this week about how returning to an old club and getting booed by the fans makes you raise your game. Burnley has been fox's best game by far I wonder if he was more psyched up for that one? I don't think anyone thinks Fox is crap just not great defensivly. We're leaking goals at the back, and Fox doesn't seem to be helping. Harding may not be the greatest defender the world has ever seen but he's dependable and pretty solid defensivley and the back four need tightening up.

When Harding is fit who would people like to generally see at LB? IMO Fox - better going forward, good ball delivery, decent free kick, cost a lot of money (for us) Harding - sloppy passer at times, much better defensivley gets in some great tackles both seem prone to the odd lapse in concetration. I might be old fashoined but I think a LB should defend first and get forward second so I think I'd rather Harding. Thoughts?

You missed the thread the other day when certain posters said they'd like OXO to get a career threatning injury then? Plenty of hate on that thread. We have threads about ex-players all the time, If they've played for saints I think it's fair enough to discuss them on a saints board or are all ex players names verboten?

Is there a rule that we must hate ex players? I watched the highlights and have to admit it made me smile when he scored, he wanted to move to a bigger club (most players do) and we got a very good price for him no need to hate him for that IMO.

I honestly don't think thats how the club see it, I think the idea is to evolve a team not just throw money at one.

I think Harding has the advantage going forward that he and Adam know each others game inside out after playing down the left so much the last two seasons. I'd say Fox has a better ball delivery than Harding.
