yep - we still won but I felt like we were lucky today.

After watching our Rickie get pushed ,grabbed and kicked chunks out off yet again by the oppostion today. Does anyone else think Rickie gets the short end of the straw from refs. I'm willing to admit I could just be baised but it seems like Rickie rarely gets any protection from refs. One incident today I saw a Millwall defender with both arms wrapped around Rickie only for the ref to give Millwall a free kick for Rickie backing in. What do others think?

Good I was a bit wooried he picked up an injury. I did think it was a brave call by Nigel to take off Adam we looked poorer without him, but in fairness Adam did look knackered.

Hard game. Millwall were physical, it was hot and the passing game never really got going. We rode our luck at times but we won...which was the most important thing. Kelvin was very good today a couple of good saves, Richardson was about as good as I've seen him in a saints shirt... Morgan look good when he came on as did De Ridder. Does anyone know why Dean was taken off? Injury or tactical?

It's the middle of the summer holidays never a good time to expect a bumper crowd I'd of thought. Not problem for me though. I could only afford a season ticket or a week in a carvan with the wife and kids .......the ST won hands down.

I remember when we played Leeds two seasons back people saying they weren't very impressed with him. I'm sure time in the PL has made him a better player but back then opinion was he was a light weight who went down very easily and didn't cope well with physical stuff. On top of that as others have pointed out he is an arrogant bastard who seems to cause trouble not the sort we want in our happy little team I'd of thought.

Good news, big fan of Dan Harding I reckon he deserves it. Dickson has never been good enough to replace Harding IMO.

The problem with crowing is it usual comes back to bite you the arse. He had an opinion at this moment in time he's been proved wrong. I wonder if the wheels came off and we went on a 10 game losing streak if Lard would have more class than to drag this thread up to take the ****......

Nigel was asked last night in the solent interview about Guly being subbed - he said it was becuase he felt Guly was dropping to deep (if I recall correctly) so it was tactical.

Better make sure we keep singing his name then, make Adam feel loved and he could well be the next MLT (I hope)

I never bought that excuse becuase A) apart from odd games we won more often than not quite often by several goals.. so we didn't really struggle in league one (other than the first 10 games under Pardew) B) we should in theroy be playing a better standard of player now than we did in League one making it harder

the championship to be harder? I know we're only three games in but two of the teams we've played I had down as being some of the better teams in the championship. I'm trying really hard to not get carried away it's a long season a lot could happen...but the standard of teams so far has been lower than I thought it would be. I'm already starting to think I might have to re-think my mid-table finish prediction. None of the three sides that came from league one look out of place in the championship IMO. Compare that to the PL were all three new sides look like they are going to struggle if the opening day is an indication.

You could argue that Mr Cork is already used to the way Nigel wants things from his time at scunny though...De ridder hasn't settled as quickly (I'm sure he will once Nigel has worked on him). Basically we've bought three in already we are doing very well too many new signings could upset the apple cart.
