  1. ??? that's a bad thing. Surely NC is doing the same with a bigger cloth and extra cloth to fall back on.
  2. What non league level is Thurrock?
  3. Picked this up on the beeb. You may have noticed when you picked up the papers over the last few days that pictures and copy from football league matches has been a bit thin on the ground. Your eyes do not deceive you: It's because of a dispute over the terms and conditions for coverage of live matches that newspapers, websites and wire agencies have been asked to sign up to. The clubs like the publicity their sponsors get via the papers and websites reportage of matches, and the brilliant eye catching pictures that draw us in. What they don't want is their commercial revenues being hit by the availability of free content, like live text updates, interactive services and photos that compete with their own offers, and those of their partners. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/gordonfarquhar/2011/08/locked_out.html Looks like the football league clubs and press are at loggerheads over a new press deal including photos. looks like all the stick we got last year (south coast club etc) was becuse we were 12 months to early. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  4. It's hell of lot easier to play hardball with players and other clubs when you've got money behind you like NC. It seems to me NC has a lot of similair ideas to RL it's just that NC has money to back the vision ..........
  5. Interesting about De Ridder lots of people saying he was class. Solent reckoned Nigel wasn't to happy with him, good going forward but not tracking back to help out in defense. Nigel mentioned as much in his post match interview. All in all the score says comfortable win though solent weren't making it sound like that last night. I think the main thing last night showed is what our A team and B team look like.
  6. it's a toss up do you want a better defender (Richardson) or someone who can actually pass a ball to a team mate (Butterfield)
  7. just had a baby I think...............or injuried
  8. I agree Guly is better in the middle. Barnard and Lambert seem to have a better understanding than Connolly and Lambert. There was a moment today whem Lambert cut in front of Connolly and flicked a ball on which Connolly couldn't pick up becuase he was stood right behind Lambert. I imagine the more they play together the better they'll get.
  9. Is it me or did deano look a lot fitter than last season? ....and faster
  10. Deno Looked like a different player his goal was brillant....... he looked much fitter seemed to have gained a yard of pace too.
  11. Fair enough it's all opinions. From were I was sitting Leeds looked more interested in kicking lumps out of us than playing football. Gradel was the only player who looked a threat and he seemed more interested in diving than scoring. I remember watching Rochdale ripping us apart at SMS last season and playing far better than leeds did today. Maybe leeds just couldn't cope with us (and we were great) but I expected far more from a team that are supposed to be one of the stronger teams in the championship.
  12. Not according to the Leeds fans I spoke to on the train home ...........
  13. Got chatting to some leeds fans on the train home, they were a bit beered up, but they were all really impressed with how saints played said the way we passed it around was really good. Couldn't disagree with them we looked class. Only area I thought we looked shaky was the defence passing it around in front of the goal which almost cost us when Martin get caught in possession. I think Martin looked good at times but you can tell he is still young and needs more match experince - maybe a short loan might be in order. Deffo one for the future. Everyone else looked good. oh and F uck me De ridder is fast. Great start to the season SMS is becoming a real fortress now.
  14. If Leeds are one of the better teams then the championship is going to be a lot easier than I expected ...I saw league one sides play better football than that last season.
  15. Nice to see the proper order of things has been restored........
  16. Couldn't we just have cheerleaders? like the dallas cowboys http://www.dallascowboyscheerleaders.com/#
  17. No Leicester have said they're no longer interested in the sicknote apparently he is heading off to play in the US.
  18. Isn't this agent guy the same one who tweeted that no one would deal with saints becuase NC was difficult to work with? If it is I'll curb my excitment............
  19. yep but his experince helps him out a hell of a lot in that respect. I wouldn't suggest we play Jaidi all the time but against big lump attackers I'd take him over Sebourne every time.
  20. That sums up Jaidi all the time. If the balls in the air Jaidi wins it 9/10 times if he has to use feet .......... Jaidi was written off early last season and then pulled it around.
  21. I think the sky expert has given at least half the championship a shot at promotion. It really is going to be a tough league this year..... I'm really looking forward to it.
  22. Why seaborne and not Jaidi? I would have imagined Fonte and Jaidi would be our first choice pair at the back with our current CB. Personally from the games I saw last season I would have Martin starting before Seaborne. Nothing against Seaborne I just think Martin is a better CB
  23. spot on assement of both saintsweb and the season ahead IMO
  24. Well I'm guessing Eastleigh won't want him now...........
  25. When the nipper and I are heading back to the train station after a match at SMS almost without fail we will be stopped by a least one female loaded down with shopping bags who will ask "did they win?". Having read the above post I now know why they always look so relieved when we say "They won"
