  1. normally the truth is some where between the two extremes.........
  2. Normally the Chapel is full of kids (including mine) evening games though the kid count is a lot less far more noisy grown men last night made for a good atmosphere I wouldn't want the chapel to turn into the Northam becuase I enjoy taking my kids on saturdays but evening games are a nice change of pace.
  3. well the Chapel was a damn sight more animated than it normally is (granted thats not saying much) but a good (probably the best this season) atmosphere in the chapel end I thought.
  4. As he hasn't even got on the bench for two games I'm wondering if we will see Dan go the way of Puncheon TBH.
  5. True but chaplow has missed a few sitters too this season.
  6. I don't think so Harding is better defensively than going forward few people get past Harding even playing on the wrong side last season he was difficult to beat, I'll admit he had a stinker against Carlisle but one game doesn't make a bad player. Is not as if Dickson had much defending to do tonight I was expecting Brighton's wingers to be quite dangerous from what I heard about but they looked as poor as the rest of the seagirls team.
  7. oh you where doing so well agreed with everything you said until that apart from a couple of crosses Dickson looked decidely average. One bad game against Carlisle prehaps but Harding is still the best LB at the club by some distance.
  8. Barneys shoulders noticably dropped when he saw his number on the board he looked really dissapointed at least he jogged off the pitch unlike that Brighton monkey who didn't speed up even after getting the yellow card.
  9. he's carrying an injury that needs an op Adkins is trying to manage it by not over playing Barney it would seem.
  10. I think oxo had cramp HTBH he looked like he was struggling in the last 10 we don't really have a like for like replacement for oxo.
  11. eh????????
  12. yeah they were niggly and playing for time seemed to get away with quite a bit too, none of the free flowing footie I was lead to believe the Seagirls played was on show.
  13. it's funny really becuase Poyet said they were coming to win it in his pre match interview looked like they came for a point. Last season they gave us a bit of a football lesson at SMS this season they where very poor.
  14. Jaidi's run and link up with OxO in the first half was pretty special if Jaidi had put that in the net it would have been a great goal. Mind you running the length of the pitch probably means he'll need three games off to recover now.
  15. FF got pretty spot on I'd say. Don't know what game Dogface was watching.
  16. Three surely?
  17. Before the match I'd have taken a draw against the league leaders, last season they ripped us apart at SMS. After watching the match I thought Brighton were bloody awful. They came for a draw wasted time and defended really well but beyond their defence they were very ordinary I was told played good passing football but other than passing back to their keeper a lot I didn't see much evidence of it. We should have won that game first half was pretty much one way traffic second half a bit more even as we tired. For me Hammond was the best I've seen in ages closing down and good strong tackles (poor shot in the second half though), Kelvin had a good game not a lot to do but did it well (and saved a pen) adam and oxo struggled I thought as they seemed to be double teamed all the time but even then broke through a few times. on balance 2pts dropped for me
  18. Our midfield was excellent Hammond was like a different player tonight constantly closing down and tackling Morgan was very good too unlucky to get a card for a nothing tackle.
  19. Good stuff. Window cleaners right though I read somewhere that something like 80% of all academy players in the four football leagues never go onto to become professionals (as in league football) I suppose thats the nature of the game but for all those faliures if we produce the odd Walcott, Bale or Lallana it's got to be a good thing (it be even better if we could ever hang on to them as well, but that will never happen)
  20. And prehaps he's not. We've only started PAYP (Connolly) since the new owners took over and as Holmes arrived during Lowes tenure I'm pretty sure he's not on a PAYP deal . According to the OS he has made 14 starts for the club in two and half seasons so if is on a PAYP deal I imagine he'd be homeless and died of starvation by now. If anyone has shown some loyalty I'd suggest it's the club not Lee Holmes, he came here on a free so letting him go would have saved the club some money however the club have stuck with him despite all his injuries about time he re-payed the club for that.
  21. Sorry but you can't claim to be a great player if you can't hack a certain type of game the best could/should be able to play at any level, those players might have been gifted but mostly they were bottlers. Personally I like Morgan last year I thought he was our best midfielder he coped perfectly fine with league one last year didn't mind getting stuck in (something his discplinary record showed). This year it just looks like he wants away.
  22. yeah I'm sure drawing a nice wedge each week has helped I suppose we should thank Pulis for sticking around too? It's not as if Holmes has been fit that much or as if teams have been knocking down the door to sign him. If he can stay fit and play well that would be great but I don't think we should making him out to be some loyalty guru in fact a good half season is the least he owes us considering how much he's had in wages compared to how much he has played.
  23. eh so are you saying that PL players would struggle to play league one? I've never got this idea that a player could play really well at a higher level but struggle at a lower level.
  24. Interesting that Claridge made out our goals where all down to poor defending by the Posh rather than good play from us (although looking at the highlights the posh defenders looked about as useful as the kids in my sons under 10s team). Barneys goal was well taken. As was puncheons how come he finally finds the net this season after leaving us? Apparently I don't know if anyone saw? but Brighton are getting a new stadium 90+mil only 22000 seats wow.
  25. Now I'm really f ucked off I have to miss this for an old codgers birthday bash. Good lads though keep it going boys COYS
