  1. LOL:D
  2. No Im not](*,) someone pointed out that the BBC didn't metion Papa's very important goal against Norwich. I was merely pointing out that at the time the goal was wrongly given to Dan Harding and so it's not suprising that Papa didn't get a mention, when even our own OS match stats state Harding 90+3. We all know Papa scored it only a blind man could get Papa and Harding mixed up.
  3. Look at the match stats it says harding 90+3 HTH
  4. Thats probably becuase the BBC had it down as Dan Harding for the goal, although how you get Papa and Dan mixed up is beyond me. In fact the OS match report also gives Harding the credit WTF:smt107 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10280~51121,00.html
  5. I'm being left at home to do some decorating while the misses takes the kids to her mums over the bank holiday. Might just pop out to watch the saints if I can get a ticket the wife will never know:badgrin: I figured this would be a sell out first home game after the final and all but if not there's time for me to grab a ticket.
  6. Well considering many fans of other clubs still think we're in admin when you talk to them I think your right. Most football fans are very inward looking and really don't now much about the other teams they play.
  7. Actually now its on I-player you can watch the NW/cumbria version to get a different out look on the day. My highlights were the presenters of that show saying it was "men against boys on the day" and that according to the Huddersfield manager we are going to have an amazing league one team next year:D
  8. Tis true might I suggest the Faroe islands too population is slighty higher at 48,000 but they do have a league with ten (yes ten) whole teams in it and are eligiable for the world cup. Of course if I'm going to play it's in goal fat blokes don't run to well
  9. Stirring the pot a little:cool:. Is Lambert better than Stern John? if the answers yes why couldn't he be any good at international level given that Stern John is the fifth higest scoring international of all time (better than than Bobby Moore and Theirry Henry). Is Lambert better than Ali Daei of Iran the top international scorer of all time? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_international_association_football_goal_scorers_by_country The truth is being an international isn't just about how good you are but how crap your country is. A shame for Lambert he was born in England if was from Andorra his name would be first on the team sheet:D Remember our own Jake Thompson is an international and so was/is Papa.
  10. Fair enough I seem to remember some comment from AP when we signed him on loan about not knowing that much about him. It was early in the season I think we were still trying to rebuild the clubs scouting system back up.
  11. Why say AP doesn't appreciate subtelty, AP found him and brought him here, who else had ever heard of him, well done AP and thanks for using him wisely! I was under the impression AP new next to nothing about him and NC brought him here after being told about him. (I could be wrong)
  12. Here's a list of top international goal scores of all time Stern John is at number five:confused: and some guy from Iran is top:o so maybe I'm wrong hell if Stern John can do it i'm pretty sure Lambert can:D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_international_association_football_goal_scorers_by_country
  13. If Lambert was Scottish, Welsh or had a grandmother from Trinidad and Tabago he'd have a chance at an international carerer but he is English so he has got no chance. Quite honestly with the summer coming up it's about time we started telling the world how awful he is so no one wants him.
  14. I was in block 130 up near the back right under the roof (floor of the tier above) and it was really strange because you felt cut off from a lot of the crowd, I couldn't see or hear the fans in the tiers above. Some of the people in our area would strike up a song and people would join in but it was impossible to tell what was happening more than a few rows away. I was less impressed with the ****s banging on the metal panels right at the back, I wouldn't have minded if they had got some sort of beat going but just wacking it constanly for 90 mins without any rythum was just annoying.
  15. Well if we're going to split hairs your right no one has done a study which means I can't prove it however it also means you can't disprove it either. We will have to wait for the study in to "ref ****ups and do they even out over a season" PHD paper to find out whose right. To answer your other question no clubs season hangs on one bad call from a ref. If they get relegated in the last match (as you suggested) becuase of a poor ref call the players and fans will use it as an excuse just to deflect from how crap they were all season. You can bet they had another call in another match that helped them get a win when the should of got a draw. They won't see that way becuase it happened two games into the season and has been forgotten but it will have happened and if you swapped those incidents around that team would still get relegated.
  16. You mean about the same time we started playing all the signings on a regular basis and they got to now each other, might have more to do with it than NC comments I think. NC has every right to express his unhappiness but he should do it in private with AP not in a radio show question and answer. A good manager does not show up his staff in public it's counter productive.
  17. To quote you Murphy should have been sent off. Of course, so should have Claus, back in 2003 Proved my point football Karma we got away with it in 2003 Carlisle got away with it on Sunday. Fans are biased we all pick up on the bad stuff but we tend not to notice the stuff that goes for us. Tranmere game penalty against us (no way a penalty according to our fans) MK Dons Fonte goes down like a hollywood stuntman(no way a penalty according to Dons fans). Of course I've not done some scientific study but I still firmly believe that of the course of a season we get desicions for and against us in equal measure, its just as fans we tend to ignore the bad reffing that's in our favour.
  18. Hey its his first trophy. Playing at Wembley in front of 70,000 scoring a goal probably seems like a big deal in his footballing carrer. Why wouldn't he be happy?
  19. I've just finished watching mondays Late Kick Off on i-player. I think they showed two goals scored with a hand, one keeper sent off under duboius circumstances and another one who stayed on the pitch after rugby tackling an oppostion player (to add injury to insult the keeper made a string of good saves after the foul) plus a blatant foul thrower that resulted in a goal. Refs make bad calls all the time its annoying when it happens to us but in the long run these things tend to even out. Unless FIFA bring in cameras it will continue to happen, the best we can hope for is the refs get it right 80% of the time. The other 20% gives fans something to talk about after the match.
  20. More than likely we're the big payday down in league one right now
  21. The world and its nan have figured out that we might have a bit of money, we were very busy in january and the press have taken note. I excpect us to be linked with a lot of players this summer most of it will be rubbish. AP hasn't really put a foot wrong with his player signings so far so I trust him to get the right players in and for the right postions.
  22. Frank intresting. I think sundays route one game was more of a reaction to a lack of quaility in midfield. If we'd tried playing through the middle of the park we would have lost that battle. With Morgan fit we can play better football without him we have to revert to plan b which worked a treat. AP has experimented with different formations and tactics but when it comes down to it 4-4-2 has worked the best for us this season. I would be very happy for AP to stay and I think he can take us a long way.
  23. What I couldn't believe for papas goal was Lambert speeding down the wing out stripping their defender for pace:confused: WTF how slow must that Carlisle defender be? good goal though I really wanted Papa to score as that made him the JPTs top scorer :supz:
  24. Well we're a team of winners till we lose the next match;). I wasn't confident at all yesterday my confidence dropped even more when I heard Wottons name was on the team sheet. I mean yesterday's team where very much a second 11 and I wasn't sure they where good enough. As it turned out Carlisle barely turned up and we smashed them. However years of conditioning meant that when they got one back I actually started wondering if we'd end up losing 5-4:( It could take me many years to overcome the last few years of dross.
  25. Personally I'd rather go up as champions next year. League one is no where near as bad as I thought it might be. Plenty of proper football fans at this level rather than plastic glory seekers, the football can be pretty good at times and I can afford to actually go to matches. As AP said this club needs a winning mentalty thus I want promotion as champions not as the team that nicked it at the death and squezzed through the play offs. Everyone remembers the winners not who finished sixth in the league. Personally next year I'd like to win the all three domestic cups and finish league one champions thats what the players and AP should be aiming for.
