I just laugh now when I read things like this... how can it KEEP getting worse? Never understood how Lowe and the boardroom and shareholders continually manage to make things worse. We never seem to bottom out do we? Now a loanee player exposes the joke of a loan system in place. I am really worried. I think we are spending too much on loanees as it is let alone 'Club Policy' (ie Lowe) refusing to allow JP to play them. You couldnt make it up.

Because we're not SELLING the Club. We need to put pressure on to SELL the Club. There are plenty of buyers out there - if we get a team together who can sell this club.

Exactly right. I think we should solve our relegation short term problem with men then have 2-3 kids per game on the bench with possibly one playing. All fighting for a chance. That's how you run a football team. However, we wont get 7 more men this month, so we're fooked in the short term anyway.

That is the best summary of Man Utd's game I have read anywhere - and it comes straight from Fergie. He is absolutely right. Berbatov couldnt have strolled around anymore than he did. I swear that Man Utd started upping the pace when Rooney came on as they were getting a bit chilly. There is an important lesson for Saints fans here. We watch OUR team too much and fail to watch what the opposition are doing. I have watched teams in the CCC ease up against us for weeks once they thought they had us in the bag and the only team it backfired on was Preston. Watch the opposition. We are being treated like the kids we are. We are a team for the taking of an easy 3 points in the CCC - let alone by Man Utd in the FA Cup.

I think this thread has run its course but one thought to leave it on... How much money did the shareholders, boardmembers and directors takeout of this club? How much money would therefore have been available to this club? How different might things have been over the last 14 years had we not paid a fortune to boardmembers and shareholders? How much different would things be right now? EVEN IF (AND ITS SUCH A HUGE 'IF' THAT ITS PROBABLY NOT WORTH SAYING) THE PLC WAS TO TURN THINGS AROUND. HOW LONG BEFORE SHAREHOLDERS AND BOARDMEMBERS START TO TAKE FROM THE CLUB AGAIN? Lowe out. Plc out. Well done Sheffield Utd for showing us it can be done...as it stops to serve a useful purpose.

I agree with Soccer Mom. They are not preparing as thoroughly as we have seen at SMS in the past. The ill-discipline is not the kids fault - it is the coaches. As for goalkeeping prep, I remember in recent years, we actually had a goalkeeping coach of note who used to even take the reserve keeper on at Half Time to keep him eager in case he was needed. Yes, a free for all is a good summary. We reminded me a little of the CCC equivalent to that advert on TV where the Sunday league team 'warm up' in the van next to the heater.

I did not renew my ST this year. I have held x4 STs for many years for myself, wife and 2 children. Renewed only 2 this year and we wish we hadnt... I did not renew mine. We will NOT be ST holders next year or the year after or year after that whilst Lowe and Wilde take us into League 2. We support Southampton Football Club... Mate - you need to watch a League 1 team. I watched Swindon 2 months ago and I am telling you man for man they were better than I witnessed today... with the exception of 3 men and one nippa. Swindon are struggling. Our kids are League 2 standard... potential yes... but playing standard right now = League 2.

BWP isnt brilliant but he can shoot and certainly has more get up and go than McNoPace. I was surprised and expected him to play to.

I thought Skacel was excellent - he did give up (as did the nippas to be fair) on 0-3 - and clearly Fergie's plan was to attack down the left so he had less to do... but for me one of our best players by a country mile.
