  1. DCC isn't fancied for some reason... something not right there. Assuming he's out of the picture, with an injured Salisu, I'd take Bednarek over Lyanco all day long. Armstrong will play in a front 3 imo so not a role for Alcaraz. I'd have Alcaraz over Ely though. Edozie is massively overrated and won't be missed - if he's been dropped, it's long overdue. Orsic, if it's a front 3, has no place. Willy ahead of Bazunu, yep.
  2. I'm not fussed about Edozie tbh. If he was 25+ we'd be saying he's bang average. He gets cut too much slack cos he's a kid imo.
  3. Looks like a 433 to me. To be fair to Selles, if that's the shape, it's not far from the best he could if KWP isn't quite ready for 90 mins and Salisu is injured - although the DCC situation is a mystery. I'd have wanted Alcaraz in for Ely though.

Trial, error, trial error, trial, hope & pray. It's the future.

Mrs Egg says he looks like the fella who played for Arsenal. I think she means Fabregas. I don't see it myself.

Indeed, and in modern life Milton. If Lizz Truss had better teeth shed still be in number 10. Facts.

You can add in class, charisma and decent teeth too.

I think the fact that Jones was a massive weapon, and utterly shite, prompted SR to act when they did and not dither any more. I'm still not sure if they're complacent, too loyal, slow to act, or just incompetent.

What an impressive press conference. Wants us to have identity, and to be a unit. That's a start. The confidence is genuine, this isn't a bloke phased by what he's stepped into. He wants it and feels capable, but without the misplaced arrogance that Jones had. I was dreading tomorrow. I'm not now.
  10. I think it does. If you train all wrapped up like you're going to the Antarctic, and then play dressed in just a football kit, it's going to feel different. I'm with Dyche on this one - train like you're gonna play.

Nah, bar a few snipes here and there it's a pretty harmonious board these days, not worth ruffling feathers. I just find it interesting that people bother to do it - I'm in no doubt that more than one prominent poster posts and reacts with different logins.
  12. Salisu is likely to start I'd imagine. I'd also expect Diallo to start if Lavia doesn't. Personally I think it's time to try an alternative to Edozie - Orsic for me. The guy clearly has pedigree.

  14. I'm tempted by Peacock too. I'm confident about my vpn (cyberghost) being ok, it's just the us payments I'm unsure about. Any ideas appreciated...
  15. Yep, exactly this. The clubs strategy makes no sense whatsoever.

  17. I agree that they're not good enough, but while they're under contract surely it makes sense that they go out on loan. Thet (sometimes) get to play, and we probably get some help with their wages.
  18. Yes. SR have made error after error. Expecting to get Marsch on a very short term deal knowing he was under a long term contract was daft. It's just wasted time that we don't have.
  19. Need the context...he may have been ok on the understanding/assumption that there'd be a deal that didn't leave him out of pocket if saints didn't extend beyond the short term contract on offer. As much as saints fan seem hell bent in blaming JM, there's about 8 million reasons to walk away from that Leeds contract without an adequate replacement.
  20. Depends if you're looking from a saints perspective or an objective one. Objectively, there is zero prospect of expecting anyone who has almost 2 1/2 years contract at £3.5m a year to sign a 3-6 month contract. Trying to push that into JM is naive in the extreme - we needed JM more than he needed us and the club didn't play the room.

On the face of it you would think that, but it begs the question of why he wasn't our preferred man either before Jones or the JM fiasco.
  22. Nobody in their their right mind would take a 3-6 contract when they already have one for 27-30 months. It's completely unrealistic, and seems that's what SR were expecting JM to do. There is no blame on JM here.
