We'll agree to differ Duck. The Lyanco point was plainly flippancy, I certainly didn't take it literally. Re Jones, I think all of us until probably last night thought he was miles out if his depth and looked like a lower league manager, ie not far above the level Doswell has managed at, and is probably capable of managing at. I have no issue with him calling what looked like a shovel a shovel - others can think differently. With the benefit of hindsight he may may well have been wrong in his assessment, but that applies to probably 95% of fans.

What they both said was bang on when they said it. Jones looked like a flyweight fighting with the heavyweights, and there was nothing wrong with pointing it out. Doswell spoke as a fan, but one who just happened to have more credibility than the likes of you and me. They've got nothing to be ashamed of, but Jones should be embarrassed by what his team served up before the weekend.

Went off injured.

I've been boiling all night. This is tense as fuck.

For who?! Will be a tough watch.

He's right. 5ft 8 full backs ain't much help at corners, or otherwise defending in the air. I was one, and we were almost a man short (no pun intended) every time we defended a corner! People get excited that KWP can run at players and put a (shit) cross in, but a defender has to be able to defend. If I was the manager, I'd play a back 3 if KWP and Perraud were my full/wing backs.
-
Possibly a back 4 with Lyanco at RB and KWP at LB? Anything's possible with Jones.
-
We'll agree to differ. For me, having 2 shortish full backs in a back 4 doesn't work. As good as KWP is, he is a defender first and foremost, and his lack of size must be a factor in the way manager has played a back 3. If he wants out, grant him his wish, and bring someone in who can defend the near post without needing an extra CB to do the job for him.

Best player is an overstatement. He's a slight full back who lacks height so is poor in the air. Tino got in the team ahead of him because he offered more as an 18 year old. We can do better, and playing 4 at the back will be much more realistic if we have some height in the full back areas.
-
I'm with you. Good player compared to others we've got, but not great and was rightly overlooked in favour of Tino. If Spurs wanted a deal involving Doherty and cash our way I'd talk to them.

Just noticed Dan Nlundulu to Bolton for the season, and Dynel Simeu to Morecambe.

I'm intrigued to understand what issues they're supposed to actually manage. The NHS will take anyone capable of taking the job, and treat anyone needing treatment. Legal requirement aside, what's the actual function of these 800 people in the NHS?
-
I read somewhere that the medical team didn't want KWP involved on Saturday. If so, it seems that Lyanco was covering, and he did ok. On KWP going to spurs. I'd have a deal with them if it meant Doherty and a chunk of cash coming this way. He'd add some experience at the back, and his height would help.

Yep. Let's assume it's "just 800" at an average salary of say £60k. That's almost £50m a year, plus national insurance, plus ongoing pension costs, for diversity managers. The world's gone mad.

No drama, thanks for clarifying, and for passing on what you hear 👍
-
Yep. Poor on his left. It's his decision making which frustrates me more. He either doesn't see the pass or sees it but ignores it in favour of running down a blind alley or giving the ball way.
-
Eh? He's a mile away from being PL ready imo. No more than a bench option for me.

Out of interest, why would you not give any new man part of the transfer window to bring in reinforcements? I get the argument for a bit of time, but I'm struggling with giving him all of the window, thua no transfer opportunities for any replacement.
