He'd be just what we need - a proper number 9 who can finish. Whether or not he goes to Forest, I can't see them going down.
-
That all pre-supposes that players would want the club to have an option - these contracts ain't on just our terms.
-
I suspect he would, but our midfield needs 3 so 2 up top would need a rethink across the pitch.
-
If he doesn't suit a wide striker role or one man through the middle role at villa, he won't suit that here. On the second point, there was no "guff" from anyone when we signed him. The concern was understandable - he'd had both knees rebuilt and had barely kicked a ball. With hindsight he was a good signing, but most people had genuine reservations when he signed. What we don't know is what version of Ings we'd be getting 4 1/2 years after he first signed. Personally, I'd take a punt if he was available.

Cheers. That ends that then.

Where's that been said/posted? The criticism has been of him as a defensive midfielder, where he's not been great. If you're gonna have a pop at the critics, get it right.

Cheers. I'm anticipating a few more letters before the year is over. I reckon a P for the pansexuals is nailed on. -

Can't see it as a love honey special edition, but some may like that sort of thing. -
👍 Took me a moment!!

If Coutinho plays as a 10, Lavia will sort him out. We'll be ok against Villa.

I liked the look of him. Was looking for the ball. There was one little passage not long after he came on where he picked the ball up out wide, moved it inside quickly and made a great run into the box in a good position. He didn't get on the ball much, but he was busy and put a proper shift in.
-
I'm partly with you. He's technically strong, he takes a great free kick, his corners are ok, he works hard, his engine is superb, he organises. He's not great in the tackle though, he doesn't carry the ball between the lines, and he's not the quickest in releasing the ball. It's those slight negatives that I think has meant he's not had a big move and/or been an England regular. He's a very good player, and one that I hope stays with us, but he's not quite at the top level.

I'm having that for dinner as well!

Yep. He has me. His enthusiasm and fighting spirit has clearly transferred to the players. Tactically he's not afraid to make changes that make a positive difference. He understands what subs are for, and how/when to use them. Credit where it's due.

Unless you're suggesting that Orsic should have come on and covered the left side defensively, your point makes no sense in the context of my post.
-
if you watch his interviews, it's clear that the criticism has got to him. I reckon he's wanted to silence the doubters if nothing else.
-
The subs all made sense to me, and just no place for him today. Armstrong's pace stretched play on the left, Alcaraz pushed up from midfield, AMN beefed up the middle of the park, Mara ran around up top, Perraud did the job that Salisu was struggling to do. All good subs at the right time imo.
-
Spot on. DCC was superb. Cool as a cornetto, and always in position.
-
Yep. Huge credit to Jones for playing him where he can be most effective, and having other players around him to help do the heavy lifting.
-
As a DM he's been shite. Where he's played the last couple of games, he's been decent. That said, I didn't say he was shit and unsellable. I asked which top 6 side would buy him and play him.
