If we give one promising kid a million quid over 3 years (plus, I suspect, other sweeteners to them and their parents) there'll all want them. Sometimes in business you just have to say no.

Yep. Sub them at two goals. Or shoot them. Risky otherwise.
  3. He's technically very good. Tackles well. Passes well. Presses well. Organises his team mates. What part of that do you disagree with?
  4. Morgan struggling at United is completely irrelevant. He was brilliant for us.

    Russia

One irony is that using nukes would probably be the only way to bring Russia to its knees, but them having them means we can't do much more than we're doing now. Another irony is that if Ukraine still had them, this invasion would never have happened.

Strongly put, but getting rid of them would be crazy. They're the strongest weapon, thus the strongest deterrent.

Their response: we won't give a shit. Sure, their international reputation is shot, but as long as they have oil and gas, they'll always have a solid income stream. People believing he'll fall on his sword are hopeful, but there's no sign of it in reality.

I don't see his demise sadly. People expected the sanctions to lead to some dramatic downfall but it hasn't happened, and won't, as long as there's a market for Russian gas and oil (especially at sky high prices). It'd take a coup of some sort and unless that's the army (who are a little distracted), I don't see where it'll come from. As for Russia being fucked, let's be honest, we're not far behind economically speaking.
  10. Interesting discussion. The new owners have essentially said that we'll continue to be a self sustaining club as we were under Gao. In that respect, nothing has changed. These guys are a bit more hipster though, and the Brentford link gives football legitimacy, but in reality they ain't much different and we haven't become Man City lite. Sure, we've signed players already, but we don't know how that's been structured or financed. Onto the original question, the answer is undoubtedly a no.
  11. He'd be a decent signing, and would suit our style well imo.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash popped up my Spotify earlier today...1982...these lyrics, amongst others very apt..."double-digit inflation. Can't take the train to the job, there's a strike at the station".
  13. I thought it was just me who doesn't understand the fuss about this lad. Not skillful enough to be a winger, not good enough with the ball to be a PL 10, and doesn't have the runs or finishing of a PL striker.
  14. He showed promise early on. After that we stopped playing to his strengths - he needed balls into space but he wasn't getting that and he became ineffective, his confidence went and that was that. All of that, and reading that he's unsettled and that Ralph doesn't get on with him suggests that his time here is up. Whether he'd have cut it at this level I'm not convinced, but we've hardly helped the lad.
  15. He had threats of bankruptcy to deal with, he lost players, he couldn't sign, had concerns over players not getting paid, had one points deduction then another. It was an impossible situation and at one point at looked like he'd keep them up. He did well on any assesment - I don't get how you can't see that.
  16. I think Everton is highly likely. He did brilliant last year. He's a very good manager in the making imo.
  17. Yep, my thoughts. He'll get a bit of time, although if the end if season form continues, they may press the button a bit earlier.
  18. Oh come on, that's a daft comment. Sam's surgery wasn't a success, and he got a serious infection. For every Sam Mcqueen there's many, many successful ACL recoveries.
  19. We can't afford 3 x £25m players, but we need them. Selling JWP makes that possible. That's not a lack of ambition, it's recognising the reality of where we are.
  20. If he wants out, yep, but as long as we're ploughing all the cash back into 2 or 3 proper players. We'll miss him, but we need strengthening in other areas.
  21. Sounds like good riddance then. Even if the party and a number of ministers turn on Boris, I reckon he'll cling on. No obvious mechanism now for getting rid of the idiot now. The real coward here is Boris hiding in Rwanda during the aftermath.
  22. The letter was clear. He's had enough, and that he recognises that the party are on the slide. Resigning immediately has more impact than delaying it imo. Hopefully others follow. It shows the idiocy of having the confidence vote when they did though, should have waited until after this.

    Cost of Living

Ours went from £82 to £170. Month to month meter readings last month was £105. 3 people in the house. No heatingbon, no tumble dryer, general light use.
