Does anyone know if watching Paramount+ behind a VPN (Australia) means we'd get Australia Paramount? It's only £35 a year and apparently show loads of English football on the Aussie version.

Yep. It shows me that he had info that wasn't in the public domain. Like you I got shot down for passing on info about Cortese. The bloke was out of control. That overspend on staplewood (from memory) was about £17m. I hadn't heard the £600 fish story though!

I fear it's non football people looking at stats without any clue about how styles will actually integrate on the pitch. Buying kids schooled in proper football, then hiring a coach like Jones, then hiring a dof with an ethos that doesn't match the managers, is utterly mental. We're a basket case at the moment.

A 6 year old shooting a teacher in a "non accidental" situation. What a fucked up country. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64194407

I'm intrigued by the relevance of analytics in baseball. It's a 1 on 1 sport with people hitting and chasing the ball and trying to catch it. In football, players do a hell of a lot more than just throw, hit or catch a ball. I'm no fan of stats and analysis, but I'd imagine they're a lot more relevant in football than baseball.

Otseh-Taiwo wasn't involved tonight. 19 year old right back.

Yep, feels very Tadic esque. The sort of player we've needed for ages. Nice to see some experience too.
-
Sure is. Looks a proper player, I'm just not sure where he fits into the Jones way of playing. I'd like a 433, which this lad would slot into nicely.

Nothing persuades like a hammer, or money. I suspect the latter may have have been the persuader on this occasion.
-
Indeed. I'm not running Pilchards down, quite the opposite - he's a genuine poster who posts some nuggets. My point was that anyone who gets snippets occasionally gets fed info that's not completely accurate - that's no reflection on the poster.
-
That's a shameful comment. The bloke has taken the opportunity of a lifetime, on life changing money. Nobody can blame him for it, and no decent human being should want his career to be destroyed because of it.
-
Pilchards doesn't strike me as BS merchant. He posts in good faith, but that doesn't mean that what he hears is correct.
-
Fair point!! I suspect those Burnley players had calves bigger than the thighs of our lads!
-
Similar, but with round pegs in round holes, organisation, respect of the players, motivated players, and some kind of plan. Apart from that, him and Jones are exactly the same.
-
The cups don't bother me. What does is a lost week for another manager to work something on the training pitch, and help get players in that'll improve our chances of staying up.
-
What he meant by entitled is an unrealistic expectation. He's right in that respect, but that's different to expecting to achieve what we're capable of.
-
There's a big difference I think in coming in from the cold to try to bring a relegated team up, and taking them down then trying to take them back.
-
Not sure you read my post mate "we're entitled to better than the shite players, management and attitude that we've got at the moment". Results and performances flow from that.
-
No drama. Personally, I wouldn't waste the month and the transfer window on him. I'd bite the bullet now. As for Dyche. He's been there and done it successfully. Jones hasn't, and doesn't look like he can. I'm relaxed about Doswell speaking out. He did that as a fan, not as a manager lashing out against a fellow manager. Personally I have no issue with Blackmore either. He called the fans entitled - spot on - many are. That said, we're entitled to better than the shite players, management and attitude that we've got at the moment.
-
I think his Lyanco comment was slightly tongue in cheek. That said, players who've played for us over the recent ish past are struggling to get off the bench at national league level - Hesketh at Eastleigh and Vokins at Woking. I'm not convinced that Lyanco has more quality than those 2.
-
I get all that, but for me, it's no more complicated than the club were too slow to sack Ralph, and hired an inferior manager to replace him. Sure, the squad is poor, but our best XI is capable of better performances and results than we're seeing.
