The story is undoubtedly bollox, but however deficient Bednarek may be, I don't get the fascination with replacing him with Colwill. He's 19 years old with one season in the championship behind him. Utterly ridiculous to suggest swapping our senior CB with a kid. We need a decent experienced CB, with younger players around him.
I'll take US figures on losses with a pinch if salt. I think many in the west are hoping that Russia are doing rather than worse than they are, both militarily and economically. The truth is that their losses will be huge, but there's no avoiding that big chunks of the western world will sink into recession and suffer huge inflation as a result of all of this, so it's inevitable that the extent of Russian loss/suffering will be exaggerated.
All 10 subs on at half time and we'll get a half with Lavia, Ketchup, and Aribo playing with likely outfield starters. I'd much prefer that than seeing the new boys mixing it up with Lyanco, Valery, Redmond etc.
You're not the only 1. For every Tino there's at least one Simeu. We needed a better GK, better CB, arguably better LB, an upgrade/alternative in CM, upgrade at 10, and upgrade up front. We've arguably got that in the GK and Aribo, but apart from that I can't see where we've improved our starting XI. Indeed, with Perraud and Tino still out, we're arguably worse in terms of starters.
I don't doubt that, but not to buy a striker. A replacement CB I understand, but nobody will persuade me we're selling Bednarek to buy a striker only to stick Lyanco or Stephens in at CB. That'd be suicide.
What's all this nonsense about selling Bednarek to buy a striker?! Bednarek was made captain in JWP's absence and is the only senior CB we have. He's not going to be sold to buy a striker.
