You're saying that with hindsight. If he'd been at crap at Wrexham as he's been for the last few seasons, you wouldn't have said that we should have signed him. I'd bet you all the pies at St Mary's that you didn't say it at the start of the window either.
-
The last bit I'm with you on. I watch the Fellows highlights reel and question how his crossing ability helps us. However, the point remains that nobody, if they're being honest, went into the transfer window hoping and praying that we'd sign Kieffer Moore. Not even Kieffer Moore.
-
I think the point is that we need to strengthen in midfield, and the sacrifice has to be a CB. The issue is as much personnel as formation for me, in that we don't have the personnel to play an effective formation. We are definitely lacking a proper DM, that's obvious. Get one in and we can play 4231 with one of the two being the defensive one. That system gives us a solid midfield, a back 4, and wide men. The under 21's are playing that shape and doubtless Still wants the first team to as well.

Mate, we'd have pissed ourselves laughing if Pompey had signed Moore. Now people are devastated that he's gone to Wrexham. Hypocrisy and BS boil my piss.
-
Sorry, I don't buy that. That's hindsight talking. People would have been up in arms if we'd put our hopes in a 33 year old who scored 5 league goals last year, 7 the year before, and a total of 9 across the 3 seasons before. Don't try and tell me that you wanted us to sign a bloke who'd scored 21 league goals in 5 seasons. That's bollox.

It's a balancing act. We need enough to give ourselves a decent chance of going up, but cannot lumber ourselves with players not good enough for the PL with 3 years left on their contracts if we make it. That's why I think decent loans are the way to go - we get we need for this year, and have a clean slate next summer whatever happens this season. But yep, if Kiefer Moore is the answer, feck knows what the question is.

None of that has any regard to how voting without real thought actually helps the people casting that vote. The average person, if they're honest, isn't actually affected by illegal migrants. Legal migration may help them - they'll need a dentist, a doctor, an Uber driver, etc. We're seeing people viewing migrants of all variants in a negative way, and seemingly feel personallly impacted by it, whether they are or they aren't. To then vote for a party to address those issues, but without any thought as to how that party will change other things that actually impact their every day life, is utter madness.
-
The sad thing is that the masses have no appreciation that labour have knocked 350k or so from the net migration numbers, and closed about 200 hotels. That's a decent effort. What labour need though is a pretty swift alternative to the hotels, and some proper system to control legal migration. We need to focus on what we actually need that benefits us, and work backwards from that.

In truth, I think most people would have thought him nuts if he shoved Edwards into midfield. Hopefully the new lad can do a proper job at this level as deep midfielder. If he can, he's got no excuse to not play a 4231, and I'm assuming the transfers are all geared towards a change of formation.
-
I don't disagree, but, this "give them a try cos it can't get any worse" mentality is just nuts, especially as it will likely get worse for pretty much everyone apart from people arriving on boats, or selfish people who earn a bit and don't give a monkeys as long as they're paying less tax. We'll turn into a mini America, but with worse infrastructure and less skilled people.
-
I think it is. Look at the match day squad today. In reality, how could he have set us up any differently? Ater Downes cried off, he didn't have another option to allow him to play 2 in a 4231, and after the reshuffle, who would have played wide? I'd expect him to set us up differently against Pompey, when Fellows is available and they've all trained a bit together. If he plays this crappy shape then, or we don't win, then my patience will be wearing thin. In short, he needs a few games after the window has ended before he can be fairly judged imo.
-
I get that, although the focus is on one policy, but without any idea of the other stuff that'll impact them more than some largely disused hotels being stuffed with asylum seekers.
-
I agree that our system needs major overhaul - I haven't suggested otherwise it The issue I have is that Reform don't want an NHS, but want an insurance based system. That's more akin to an American system than that which other European countries offer. The masses will struggle to afford that, as per Americans.
-
When we've got some wingers and midfielders available we can play men wide. Today, we've had to play our wide men in midfield, so our only width can come from wing backs in a 3. Not ideal, but I can't see any alternative today sadly.
-
Inevitably, yes. Maybe it'll be Manning...
-
Yep. Much less disruption doing that.
-
Strategic illness following an offer?! 👀 (I'm not being serious, just playing to the conspiracy theorists)
-
Manning has played there, so him going in there is a possibility. Not a nice one mind.
-
Ah, of course, I posted the team sheet so should have realised. These u21 games the night before are a bit daft really.
-
Sesay on the bench ahead of a 3rd keeper seems a no brainer.
-
Ah, cheers. That makes it interesting. Can only be Fraser or Azaz dropping into the midfield...or a crazy leftfield solution of Manning in there, with Fraser shifting to LWB, and Robinson taking up his usual role.
-
Eh? What have I missed...the team sheet is up there...
-
I think Fraser and Azaz will be the 2 in a 3421.
-
Indeed, the only stat that really matters for a keeper is what goes into the net behind him. Baz doesn't save shots which he should. We can all see that. I'd like an upgrade, but it's not happening.
-
Left? I've never voted labour mate. I'm no fan of the ridiculous right either. There's a sensible bit in the middle.
