  1. The point still stands that on Monday people were calling for him to either be our number 3 or have his contract paid up. A day later, and it's give him the gloves.
  2. I'd live with that, but my expectations are even lower.
  3. Yep. And "he's excited to stay, and it's like having a new signing". Let's see, but my cynicism is kicking in the closer that window is to being slammed shut.
  4. Yep. Someone who didn't produce in a decent Sheffield United team doesn't excite me, and doesn't feel to be an upgrade on Edozie. He seems to be an older version of Sam Amo-Ameyaw. Let's see how the window plays out, but if we don't get a decent winger, I'd expect Edozie to be back in the fold.
  5. There's that, but they may be hedging their bets. A dangerous game to play, but if the choice is Edozie or nobody new who's an upgrade, I'd take Edozie.
  6. Or we get neither, and our "new" winger is Edozie and our "new" midfield dynamos are Aribo and Smallbone...I'd hate to think that we're clinging on to players as we're having difficulties getting new players in.
  7. Meslier is a good shout. Steele is BHA number 2 so unlikely, Woodman has just joined Liverpool, and Bettinelli hasn't played in 4 years. Ortega ambitious as you say, but he'll want a move you'd imagine.
  8. I think he means when Johansson became available, and then in anticipation of getting relegated, not actually signing Ramsdale. Or something.

Indeed. It comes to something when. killing journalists is deemed to be better for your international reputation than allowing those journalists to report what you're about to do.
  10. Yep. Leave France, bob about a bit, let off a flare, get picked up by a British sea ferry.
  11. That'll come on juandy.
  12. Was it one of them shady £40m transfer fees?
  13. I'm not sure there's an easier job in professional sport. Perhaps 3rd pick kicker in American Football. Keep fit, travel a bit, play plenty of cards, "work" til you're about 45, never get injured, retire as fresh as a daisy. If I wasn't a dwarf, I'd have been all over that.

    1. His contract was running down. 2. He wanted out. 3. We need the money to strengthen elsewhere.
  16. I thought height rather than pace, but he seems short of something that Still wants. Personally I like Wood, and assuming we play a 4, he's ample alongside THB, Stephens and Quarshie.
  17. I think we've been hedging our bets on who moves on out of the CB group. I'm not sure what's gone wrong with Edwards though, he seems a cracking prospect and did so well at QPR last season.

Good business all round imo. I genuinely think that's a good club for him at this stage. He'll play, improve, and in time get a big move. Good luck to the lad.
  19. He made Ray Wallace look like Cafu.
  20. Is that Joe Rothwell's summer training partner?
  21. It's his job if they want a new first pick. They obviously don't. That said, I can't imagine there's too many top level keepers floating around wanting to come here for a season to push Baz. People on here haven't mentioned one possibility which kind of makes the point.
  22. That highlights the point that loaning in a first pick isn't as easy as it sounds. When we're not buying one, and can't loan one, then we loan in a 3rd pick which is exactly what we've done.
  23. Howdy Coastal.
  24. Pointless waste imo, and nobody has yet named a credible option to loan in as competition to Baz. Regardless, this lad will do as 3rd pick, and given the mess that our team is, GK isn't the area to focus on. We have far bigger issues to address, and I'll judge the owners on how they address those.
