Yep. For ages I haven't understood what we're about. It's not a pressing game, not a possession game, not really anything obvious apart from defend and counter but we're not great at either of them.

Last time he played was Sheff Utd. In the limited clips I've seen from that game he looked poor. Playing KWP ahead of him was the right call for me.

Others seem to rate him, but I just don't see it and I can understand why he doesn't play. If his signing was Ralph's choice, then it's on him.

Re Perraud, he's just not very good. Had he played and Traore started down their right, he'd have battered him. I suspect Ralph expected Traore to play so played KWP instead. The right call for me. If KWP plays RB and Tino ahead of him, it means Perraud at LB. I'm guessing Ralph would rather have an average 10 on the right than have to play Perraud. I'm with him on that. The only reason I would imagine Redmond plays is because Djenepo loses possession time and time again, so Redmond is felt the safer option. It's shit, but a luxury player or an average one is a shit hand for Ralph. Elyonoussi. Yeah, fuck knows what that's all about.

I said last season that he should have gone, ditto the summer. Since then we've had a reasonable start to the season until today, and were amazing last week. I'm putting this down to a bad day at the office.

Yep, and his legacy lived on after he retired; the Liverpool way. They played brilliant football. I'm good mates with Paul Walsh and he went there just after Paisley retired. They were given real freedom to play and destroyed teams. I believe that the current Liverpool squad playing in the style and system from those days (albeit with current fitness levels) would do no worse than the current team playing as they do.

You're now mixing up passing lanes with other stuff. Movement, passing, players rotating and assuming new positions in the match etc, isn't new. Sure, Pep has honed it to an extent but your desperation to come across as knowledgeable is getting a bit much, and you've not persuaded me that you have much understanding. I'm off for an Indian. Keep posting please MB, your posts on the younger teams in particular I find really interesting. On the face of your first post it looked like we didn't field any subs, and given the shambles that our academy is, it's understandable that you queried it.

Do you honestly think that passing behind players or into channels is a new concept that never happened pre Pep? That giving it a name makes it something new? I appreciate that you're passionate about this, I respect that, but you've shown me in our exchanges that your understanding is very limited to the point that I don't see any point in carrying on an exchange with you.

Yep, passing into space for runners, and blocking off. You've convinced yourself that this stuff is something new. It isn't. Yes it has a name now, but it's happened since football was first played. Sure, the organisation of the runners and the pre planned strategy is more sophisticated than it was, but we're not seeing anything radical as a concept.
