Surprised there's not been more rumours about ABK being off. Leipzig apparently closing in on a different £30m defender so the only actual link would be seemingly dead with that. Weird comment. That Melissa Reddy tweet feels about as Liverpool-fed as I've ever seen a rumour. The Brazilian transfer window shuts tomorrow and I doubt they'd want to sell without a replacement. Liverpool will obviously be hoping that Lavia and his side start putting some pressure on the club, but it's pretty embarrassing that it took them almost a week to up their offer by just about £3m? I hope we stay strong on £50m, but I wouldn't blame the club for taking something around £45m and accelerating the chance to get some players in which RM is looking at. It'd be a shame for this to end in a transfer request. I don't think Lavia will play a part against Sheffield Wednesday regardless, so I'd rather it got done ASAP.

Completely agree he's not good enough. That won't be the mindset of a professional footballer though, who'll be thinking that staying in the Championship completely removes the chance.

Harwood-Bellis or Edwards if 2 of Salisu/ABK/Lyanco leave. Aarons if KWP and Livramento leave. Grimes or Downes if JWP and Lavia leave. Piroe if Che leaves. Some definitely optimistic realism here, would we feel in a good spot if this happens? I’d still maintain we’re short at GK but I really don’t see us addressing it. Maybe another winger if Sulemana goes? Definitely another winger if Sulemana and Tella go.
