He's like mason mount but without any pace - works hard against the ball and holds his position well when we are defending. But just like mason mount when he has the ball he's barely a footballer can't pass, shoot, cross or do anything else that you would want from a footballer. I can only guess that these players are favoured to balance against the luxury players who do nothing to help the team when the team doesn't have the ball. We don't have those luxury players so fuck knows what our managers see in elyuseless.

Bugger... That's probably the last glimmer of hope gone. Unless we somehow turn spurs over... But I can't see how that's going to happen. The appointment and failure to quickly sack mad nate has cost us our premier League status.
-
Well that's a point I didn't expect us to get. Not conceding against United at Old Trafford this season is some achievement. Hopefully we can take the defensive solidity into the game against Brentford and get ourselves 3 points 🤞 So far so good with Selles' Saints. UTS!!

I've made my point on why I think he's better, we'll have to agree to disagree - after all football is about opinions. But I don't believe that a keeper who invites pressure on his defense through indecision and being a poor footballer is what is required in a modern team - keepers are expected to be much much more than shot stoppers in a modern system. However that said all keepers should be half decent shot stoppers, but neither McCarthy nor Bazunu are a shot stopper.
-
I don't think anyone is saying Bazunu isn't shit, it's the McCarthy is slightly less shit that some of us are debating. Both are shit and Bazunu is slightly better at kicking a ball than McCarthy which is why I think he should be in the team. Plus so far Bazunu hasn't conceded 9 in a single game.
-
You haven't proved anything - give the stats on transition immediately following a pass and then you may be able prove a point and also on the completion on long passes, but try using your eyes and actually watch what happens when McCarthy next plays ...
-
You're not, it's not good at all, but I think everyone has forgotten how poor McCarthy's is
-
When McCarthy plays we spend a lot more time defending because his distribution is awful. When he kicks the ball long it goes to the opposition every single time or when he plays it short it takes him an absolute age to make up his mind which instantly puts us under pressure if we play against anyone who presses (which is most of the league). While he might save a few more he invites more pressure on us than Bazunu whose distribution is better (not brilliant, but faster and more accurate). I agree that Bazunu is part of the problem. For me McCarthy isn't part of the solution he's fucking terrible and should also be nowhere near a premier league team.
-
The point though is so is McCarthy - we royally fucked up by not getting a decent keeper in the summer.
-
Who comes in instead? Big willy - who isn't very convincing? McCarthy - a woeful keeper who some people seem to forget doesn't save very much and can't pass to a team mate? The problem lies in the lack of alternatives - may as well stick with Bazunu on the basis that he might slowly get better. The other 2 won't.
-
Some more hope to kill us all! Hopefully we can take some confidence from getting 3 points.

I think you are right and it is a measure of the man that once again he puts himself at the centre of things rather than put himself on the line for the team. If he wasn't such a useless twat he would have been closed down the player with the ball rather than being in no man's land (again). On a side note, he also slows down every piece of build up play he's involved in because he dithers on the ball taking away any opportunity for us to move the ball forwards quickly. He must be incredibly frustrating to play alongside. I simply don't see what anyone sees in him - there is nothing very good about his game, when he's at his very best he's bang average.

That's my positive bubble burst. Down we go. Thanks Janny B for today and the massive cunt Nathan Jones for fucking our season.
-
Bednarek can just fuck off. What a shit footballer
-
I guess a lot depends on what teams around us can do to improve and how good our squad really are - I think we're a lot better than we've shown so far this season and we've got a better squad than Bournemouth, Leeds and Forest. if we've now got a half decent manager (which I think we have) I think we've got a decent chance of survival. I might just be being a happy clappy optimist, but having resigned us to relegation under NJ I'm happy in my little bubble of positivity
-
At this stage it's about who can put a few results together - not dictated by crunching numbers by a bunch of stattos. If we win at Leeds things will start looking very different. A team or two above us will go on horrendous runs and find themselves in trouble. All to play for IMO.
-
Some of his usual stuff was there although he didn't so quite as much of it. A number of times he didn't engage when he should of done and instead backed off, was out of position a number of times, marked space rather than a man at almost every corner (while failing to address any of the runners), moaned at other players when he failed to pick people up, ... He just got away with more because ABK was immense.
-
Likewise, he talks a very good game indeed and seems like a strong leader - I can see why the players "like" him (I suspect it is like based on respect). I really hope he gets some quick results and makes the job his own.
-
I'll be happy with Selles continuing beyond the Chelsea game if: - we don't get dicked - Janny B doesn't make the bench let alone starts - there is some semblance of a plan and that plan looks like it could actually result in us winning some games - we don't play 5 at the back
-
I'm feeling wierdly optimistic about this one. I've got a feeling Selles is going to surprise people (I've nothing to base this on - just gut feel) and even if we lose at least he appears to be a sensible rational human being so is already a step up.
-
I'd rather we didn't rush into a decision and accept that we're heading down than bringing in a fraud like lampard, Rooney or Gerrard.
-
For me Nuno is the best option of the "realistic" choices. While I'd love the return of poch it isn't going to happen. Gerrard is another fraud and we'd do well to avoid. Bielsa would be a good short term appointment, but his legacy might be problematic.
-
Apparently they're being brave...
-
It's as likely as NJ getting a win or NJ getting through a presser without making an outrageous claim about being brilliant.
-
At least lyanco is aggressive - recklessly so and a bit shit, but you can see where NJ is going. However, it beggers belief that NJ has identified ball watching Janny B as a fundamental part of his aggressive dream team - it's almost like he hasn't ever seen him play or train.
