That is the reality of playing in Europe with a squad that does not have the depth of quality of the likes of Manure, City and Chelski. Is the Europa worth even one single defeat in the EPL ? Nope IMO. Plus, I think we have a fight on our hands this year to keep clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table, but I am probably worrying unduly and in fact attention seeking.

Actually, it might surprise you that I agree to a large degree with your sentiments. I look back with great affection to the days before the Premier League when teams like Nottingham Forest and Ipswich could build a team and break through. Also, when it was possible for ManUre to be relegated,as in 1974. However, those days are long gone. I love the fact that we can shake the big guns up and being relegated to the Championship and a better league is not so bad. The only problem for the club is the lack of money in the other leagues, but I would rather be a yoyo club than a plastic club.

True, I would say as a general rule in the world of business today that is also true. SFC, after all is a business. For some very wealthy owners it is a 'plaything' or a status symbol. Well, if what matters to you is winning the league or the European Champions league go and buy a season ticket at a plastic club. I actually enjoy the drama of fighting relegation, being relegated, building a new team and being promoted again.
