  1. Enjoyed this tonight. A few nice shots of 70s Southampton. I'm a bit disproportionately thrilled that Chandlers Ford got a mention on a TV show about Punk too.
  2. I'm no Tory by any stretch, but ousting Johnson with a no confidence vote and a Ken Clarke led temporary Government is the best idea I've heard throughout this mess for a long while.

  4. Trump in Eastleigh. Let's Make The Swan Centre Great Again.
  5. Puddings & Monkeys - good post. Pretty much sums up my views.
  6. It's awful that this has happened to such a historic and important piece of architecture, but I wish all the millions pledged could instead go to some humanitarian good causes and leave the moneybags Catholic Church to dip into their pockets.
  7. I think you may have taken me a bit too literally. If my actual 'sleeping' dreams came true, my footballer self would be proudly pulling the Moldovan national team shirt over his chimpanzee head and scoring the winner in the Solar System cup final. I do accept though that any such decision forced on a 16 year old would be entirely non-legally enforcable.
  8. There may be a very small amount of players who are genuinely conflicted, but I reckon most footballers at 16 will know whether they have been dreaming of scoring the winner for England in the world cup final, or for someone else. So often it clearly becomes a commercial decision, that's what annoys me.
  9. All this playing for one country then opting for another really bugs me. Young players with dual qualification should have to choose who they wish to represent at international level when they sign their first professional contract and be bound by that decision.
  10. Code still not working. What an absolute joke. As an ex-season ticket holder, I suspect that I'm exactly who this offer is aimed at - entice me back at a bargain price to remind me of what I'm missing. However, this farce has just left me feeling more disengaged than ever. I find it funny more than anything to be honest.
  11. Just tried to take advantage of this deal. It says that the code has been successfully applied, but the basket still shows full price. I will need to input my card details and press 'confirm' while the price is still showing £38. Maybe the discount will then be applied - but maybe it won't. I'm not taking the risk, so will happily stick with watching the game on the telly. Great offer Saints. Cheers.
  12. Last year, we bypassed the tour operators and booked 2 weeks at the all-inclusive San Antonio hotel in Malta directly through their website https://www.dbhotelsresorts.com/dbsanantonio/. We then booked Ryan air flights from Bournemouth to get us there and back. I must admit that I was a bit nervous about booking a holiday abroad without the security of a tour operator – especially with 2 young kids, but It all worked perfectly. The hotel even provided free transfers to and from the airport. I put the exact same hotel and flights through Expedia and booking through them would’ve cost us about £900 more for the identical holiday . The hotel was great and I would recommend anyone looking for an all-inclusive family holiday in the sun to consider doing similar to the above. We are looking to go the DIY route again for a holiday abroad next summer and I wondered if anyone had any similar good experiences to share? The only real criteria we have is a family friendly hotel somewhere sunny with a good pool. If you could name the actual hotel and airports used, that would really help as copying a successfully tried and tested itinerary gives a little more reassurance. We’d also consider a privately rented villa (with pool) if anyone has any recommendations with easy airport transfers that don’t require a hire car.
  13. The 2026 tournament has 46 teams. Maybe there will be an even easier 3rd half of the draw.....?
  14. The fact that no one I know, nor anyone on here was aware of Southgate having spent time on Saints' books makes me wonder whether this is a mistake.
  15. Football finance expert on Radio 4 this morning was saying that Abramovic selling up would not be a problem for Chelsea. They are one of the top 5 most desirable clubs in the world and wealthy foreign concerns would be queueing up to buy them.
  16. You can't always get Jose Fonte You can't always get Jose Fonte You can't always get Jose Fonte But if you try sometimes, you just might find You just might find..... You get Harry Reed
  17. If you don't mind an outdoor pitch you could try Knightwood Leisure Centre, Chandler's Ford.
  18. Sorry, my original post wasn't particularly well worded. What I'm keen to know is how the diversion is working out? What's the traffic time from Chilworth roundabout to city centre, via Swaything/Portswood in morning rush hour?
  19. I'm off this week but my commute normally involves coming in to Southampton on Bassett Avenue. Just wondering how bad the delays are. Anyone got any experience of this morning to share? How long did it take to get through in rush hour? I may look at working from home next week if it's really bad.
  20. Sorted now, in case anyone was wondering! Don't ask me how.
  21. Old git here. Last computer game I played was on a ZX Spectrum. My son has an Xbox One and can't get the headset to work. Ive tried but am sadly no use to him. I don't think there's anything wrong with the hardware, as it does register a quick beep in the headset when you press the mute button. It must be something simple, but it's beyond me. Anyone got any suggestions?]
  22. Forster apparently dropped according to Talksport.

  24. "Mickey Mouse doesn't look like he did in 1935, but he's still Mickey Mouse". The new Pompey slogan.
  25. Some of it is toe-curling. Citing Britney Spears, Christina Agualara and Justin Timberlake being in the Mickey Mouse club as proof that he nurtures talent.
